They have no right to sue him.

The music label licenses the music to the venue. The person hiring the venue can then play the music.

The musician doesn't have any power over the whole process.

All they can do is make it known they don't want to be associated with it, send toothless legal letters, and possibly, if they're powerful enough, try and get the label to withdraw the license to future Trump venues.

But of course when the MAGA idiots hear that a musician hates their music being played, it just makes them even more rabid when it does get played at the next one.

I know I’m replying to myself but having looked further, the picture posted by @Silva_Spell was from a YouTube clip posted by someone called Sean Fitzgerald who has usernames Iamsean90 and Actualjusticewarrior. Oddly enough he posts on Gab, the social networking service known for its far-right userbase. “The site has been widely described as a safe haven for extremists including neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and the alt-right.”
Now why would Silva_spell be interested in looking at stuff posted by a Gab member?

As you would find, the statue does not require you to be the owner (illegal or otherwise) what it requires 'is' that you are in 'possession' of the gun. It's hard to argue the person shooting the gun did not possess it.

The 2nd part is why I suggested the question of whether the person trying to dispossess the illegal holder was aware that he was carrying illegally.

Of course, what you should do is tell the police that there's a 17-year-old illegally carrying a gun, and they will arrest him. Or throw him a bottle of water.
