This is such a sad indictment of a society that once was a beacon for many - no wonder they got Trump

The fact that 23% of the respondents think the holocaust is a “myth” is truly frightening. It means many of those polled cannot (or refuse to through rejection of truth) place the current treatment of immigrants and other “undesirable” groups of people in the horrid historical context necessary to understand where things are likely going and why it is paramount that the march toward those atrocities be stopped. Many of them probably think legitimate, fully sourced reporting about the immigrant concentration camps are fake news and thus nothing to actually worry about. Or they simply don’t care about anyone but themselves or — worse yet — take delight in the suffering of those people outside of their affinities. That's worrying.
Explains why they are kicking off about the migrant concentration camps which are sterilising them as well.
Trump can't criticise China as he's copying them in that respect.
But that trend has been present for a few decades now, unfortunately, with the further democratisation of “information”, the dissolution of collectively agreed-upon facts, and the resurgence of violent “othering” more easily amplified by new mass engagement systems.
