When pressed, Trump will disavow racism.

But he'll give a wink and a nod to racists time and again to curry their favor.

Trump doesn't give a shit about anything other than his own reelection. I don't think that Trump is racist in the sense that he hates black Americans - he's simply an opportunist - and couldn't give a damn about the issue one way or the other.

I don’t disagree with any of that mate to be honest.

Trump wasn’t known for being a racist prior to him running for President and until he needed that vote.

If you've ever watched the Netflix mini series "When they see us" about the Central park 5 from 1989 theres some footage of Donald Trump saying he wishes "he could come back as a black" because apparently "they get all the advantages in life".. he advocated for the death penalty for the 5 , despite them being kids and a strong case against the flimsy evidence which convicted them , he still claims they are guilty to this day even though they have been completely exonerated and the actual perpertrator being imprisoned...I'd say he comes across as having racist attitudes back then , particularly the claim from a man who has had everything in life , handed to him on a plate by his father , wishing he was black , because of the advantages in life he "believed" it gave you..
 
Can Trump be prosecuted for genocide?

Just seeing the reports that LA have instructed their paramedics not to bring anyone into hospital with a low chance of surviving because they are overwhelmed with Covid.

I can't argue with that.

Except that full-page ads in several New York papers must have been motivated by something... given Trump's personality, those ads must have been placed to gain some advantage for him personally.

I really don't think that Trump cares now or in the past what happens(ed) to the Central Park 5; it's all about publicity and advantage for Trump.

Trump does, however, seem to see advantage in seeming to advance racist positions - that way he can gain the racist vote while still clinging narrowly to the position that he's not racist. Actually he couldn't care one way or the other.

Nope he's racist.
As well as the Central Park 5 and the discrimination against blacks with property rentals there's this one as well.

In summary he said he doesn't want blacks counting his money because they're inherently lazy. Can't get much more racist than that.
