Donald Trump

Hands up all those people who think Trump has the intellect, political acumen, knowledge of US and World history, and temperament to be President.

Exactly! No-one thinks that! He is an embarrassing idiot, who proves it more every day. Throw in the fact that he is snubbing his nose at the Constitution by making millions from being President and daring Republicans to impeach him, and you can add arrogant arsehole to the list.

I have not and will not use the words President and his name together. He is a fraud and a huckster who was legally elected by people who are clearly susceptible to both fraud and hucksterism. What a sad indictment of the US electoral system.

You are the Perfect Republican spokesperson for this Forum. Bravo!

I apologize if the factual points I made have made you speechless. I completely understand it, of course, because even the Republicans in Congress are running out of excuses and running from his growing legacy of Petulant Child in Chief and don't want to talk about him!

Not to worry, though, eh? I have to live with his "policies" while you get to point and sound tough from afar. Another very Republican trait.

Do you prefer Corbyn to him?
Always funny to see someone's defence of anyone be "Yeah, but is he better than.....?" Why not just espouse his positives? Oh wait, it's Trump we're talking about!

I can just see it in 2020...

"Vote Trump! He's no Pol Pot!"

Sad part is that most Trump voters wouldn't have the first clue who Pol Pot was!

Of course they did. Trump accepted Putin's reassurance that Russia didn't meddle in the US election in contradiction with his own intelligence agencies. That's why Putin will be laughing.

And you have insider knowledge of this from didsbury?

If your prioritities when choosing someone to vote for are all about comedic effect and annoying people you don't like rather than actual ability to do a job then you're absolutely right.

The voting booth this time round was the same as an anonymous internet chatroom. A vote for Trump -- by so many -- was a troll, a flame, a wind-up against all the "annoying people you don't like", made newly acceptable without consequence by the ubiquity and protective cloak of today's technology. Nothing to do with who he is, what he's done, what he's like nor what he believes in. Embittered Trump supporters are trolling those they are envious of, sick of, frightened of or hate for more sinister reasons.

If either party actually runs a candidate people like and trust in 2020 (obviously the Republicans will find one or more to challenge him for the nomination), I predict Trump's actual electoral support will disappear to the level of that of semi-also rans like George Wallace or Ross Perot as the little "poke a stick in their eye" game loses its charm (and/or there's a recession or some other problem our current underwear skid mark of a President bumbles/lies his way through). But who knows if either can find one.

I like the fact he's not a politician however he is not fit for the job, it's about time there was someone who doesn't go with the status quo, you only have to look at our politicians and what has happened recently to see things have to change. Trump is just to far the other way bordering on been a lunatic and things could turn south with him. I do think we need someone like Trump but not go about things in the way he does.
Don't worry, Zuckerberg will be along soon.
