That's deplorable.Secret Service chief apparently tells USA Today that their budget for Trump clan protection is exhausted, and agents will go unpaid. I think it said that the Secret Service are required by law to provide this service.
I assume he's gone public to force the issue.

It seems it happened last year too - I'm not sure if that includes covering the candidates during the campaign offhand. The Trump group is bigger than Obama's, as the families are bigger (grown-up children being an obvious one).
It seems it's 1000+ agents who will be affected.
