Donald Trump

I think you missed quite a bit Dax. Quite intentionally too.
I read it back and he didn’t call you or anyone else stupid.
Never said he called me stupid.

He highlights what drives him crazy.
Basically people claiming they vote for him for his policies while basically he has none.
What kinds of people vote for policies that don't exist? People who have been conned. I.e. stupid people.

I and simply cutting through the b.s. masquerading as an argument
.

Now whether I agree with that sentiment or not has nothing to do with this debate. However this is continually one of your modus operandi.
Not true. But lets agree to disagree on that accusation for now...
I would be more interested in you countering the meat of what his observations of Trump are. Not what he claims Trump voters claim they voted for…. if you follow me.
But the subject of the post was "Trump's voters and their claims." Not "Trump's policies." The Trump policies points were simply the blocks that supports his conclusions about Trump voters.

Here is how the post began
"It drives me mad hearing Trump voters say they like his policies." This is the subject of his post.
I could point out that his points about Trump policies are mostly false or at best poorly stated. And they are. Not to mention that they are slanted. But that would just be me attacking something that wasn't the point of his post.

Something you've also accused me of doing in the past.

Of course I can address the actual policy claims he made. But that wasn't the point of my response. The point of my response is to register how tired I've gotten reading over and over again how stupid, uninformed, immoral, etc Trump voters are.

So I distilled his statements into what he is trying to really say.

You know full well what I think of Trump as a person, but I am also amazed that he can spout any old tripe and not put any sort of detail on it as to how things will be costed or done. Where is the manifesto that outlines these plans?

Now he’s won and we’ll find out soon enough but I find nothing wrong in what this poster has written. I would agree with much of it, but he has not said the things you say he has in your paraphrasing.
That is every bit as disingenuous as anything you object to in here.

Again he said and I quoted, since you don't like paraphrasing.:

"It drives me mad hearing Trump voters say they like his policies.

He doesn't have policies."

Question: why are Trump voters who say they are voting for his policies voting for him when he doesn't have policies?

Answer: they are not smart enough to recognize he doesn't have policies...I e They are stupid!

Their is nothing wrong with my summary, even if you wanna bend over backwards to not see it.

That said, just to please you, I'd go back and address the Trump policy claims....

Albeit, that won't change the fact that it wasn't the point of his post.

Everything you post is disingenuous. He still never said they were stupid. You are assuming it based on no evidence. The bit in bold is completely made up by you

Just because they say they like his policies when he doesn't have any would not automatically make them stupid by default as you assume. They could be liars. They could be, like you, disingenuous. Maybe they really like the idea of mass deportations but dont want identifying as a racist so use policies as an excuse or maybe they hate the idea of a woman being President and so use policies cos their family might see how misogynistic they are. Lots of reasons....but you always go to the same one that no one said because its fits your narrative

My apologies. At least we are both in agreement that the post was about Trump voters...

What you are saying, if I may summarize, is that my summary was limited to my myopic view.

So with your permission, I'll expand the possibilities:

Trump voters are either stupid, liars, racist, sexist, bigoted or hateful....

Did that fully cover it?

I thank you for adding some meat to the bare bones :)

I think yourself and a few others continue to goad each other and I won’t deny that the GOP voters are less educated argument has been done to death by quite a few regulars in here as well.
I observe both sides as objectively as I can. I’m open about the things I agree with, so that I’m up front with yourself or others like Bigga in the past.

One thing you have not got from me, is an accusation that you don’t know what you are voting for. I’ve made it clear on several occasions that you knew damned well what you were voting for and you are quite pleased that you expect to get exactly that.

For the argument above I don’t agree with you about what that poster’s thrust was in that post. I’ve have done the same with Foggy, for the record, when I’ve felt he was taking a meaning out of something more than was objectively implied or evident.

I don’t want to fall out with you, but if I bother in here at all, I’ll speak my mind.

One observation since the election result is, perhaps understandable, but you have taken on the exact same air of superiority (perhaps not the right word) that you seemed to detest in Dem canvassers.
You’ve given up/grown tired of explaining.
Instead a lot of your answers, like the one I was disagreeing with seem to be putting any dissenting voice into the same ‘who’s stupid now?’ box.

Ironic! Isn’t it.

Probably best I stay out of here and perhaps the political threads in general for a while as there are a few that are starting to bug me. God forbid I really let loose in a football thread about my political beliefs.

Naïve. We keep forgetting naïve.
