I’m glad to remain a City supporter in this analogy whether the GOP are United or Liverpool.
I’d claim to be an objective City supporter insofar as I have an equal indifference to both ’Reds’.
Just curious does the Liverpool analogy make Trump into Klopp? Or the new guy?

The analogy isn't about the teams. Just the essence of rivalry. No one quits being a city fan because a City player dove to earn a pen ( even though we all hate divers). No one stopped being a City fan coz we are accused ,of a bunch of violations. Even though we are against doing illegal stuff.
We stay City fans. We dislike the bad ( if it's true) and highlight the good even when other fans ( let's call them haters) whine about us. The excess wealth, the cheating, buying everyone, oil money, the bald fraud etc. None of it matters. What happens on the field is ALL!
That was the point. This thread is a rivalry sport. And no United or Liverpool fan would convince me of how I should feel. None! Not even a Hammers fan :p
So let's all just stick to spewing whatever facts support us. And I'll keep knocking down any nonsense masquerading as facts.
