They are creeping that way.
In the past Caitlyn Collins a well known republican wouldn't have been given the Trump town hall meeting last year. She was rightly criticised for not challenging some of his attacks on people and his policies.

The problem with CNN is they appear to have taken a 'both sides' stance, on the candidates and played down a lot of the anti-Trump rhetoric, which is not helping Biden and subsequently giving Trump an advantage.
