Dortmund Away

On the day of the game we are heading to dortmund from Dusseldorf, I understand that trains have been included in the match ticket, is that still the case?

Coming back from Dortmund after the game, what is it like getting a train to Dusseldorf?

From the FC Dortmund website …

“Each ticket already includes the fee for the use of public transport - 2nd class - in the VRR (Rhine and Ruhr Public Transport Association) area, meaning that it can be used as a train ticket. Long-distance trains such as IC and ICE are not included in the ticket price.”

Getting back after the match;

Walk (About 6 min)

Take U43 Dorstfeld Betriebshof departing at 11:47 PM, get off at Kampstraße (8 minutes, 6 stops).

Walk (About 5 min)

Take RE6 93152 Düsseldorf Hbf departing at 12:07 AM, get off at Düsseldorf Central Station (58 minutes, 7 stops).

There may be an earlier option, but this one should be easy to make.

Best in Europe during my many trips to Germany. Great crowd control with common sense. If you take the piss they will act.They treat fans with respect and most speak English.

Hi everyone, first time going to Dortmund. If anyone is staying in Essen, what’s the best/quickest way to get back to Essen after the game? Thanks
