YAWN. Another CL club who's CEO shows no class at all.
Didnt Dortmund almost go bankrupt in 2005 and had to have a loan from Munich to stave off bankruptcy.

Borussia Dortmund’s chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke has called for clubs like Manchester City to be thrown out of the Champions League should they continue to exploit ‘back-door funding’.

The Bundesliga champions meet Roberto Mancini’s side at the Ethiad Stadium tonight, and Watzke is adamant Uefa should come down hard on the likes of City, who use big sponsorship deals with companies controlled by the club's owners to supplement extravagant spending.
'Uefa must find the thin line between sponsorship and excessive back-door funding – they must show strength to expel big clubs,' said Watzke.
'No tycoon should be allowed to pump crazy money into a club with sponsorship from five companies he controls. If that happens, financial fair play will fail.'

Uefa president Michel Platini's new Financial Fair Play rules will seek to limit each club's expenditure based on its revenue.
But City, who are owned by Sheik Mansour, currently net £400million for their shirt and stadium sponsorship deal with Ethiad, who themselves have strong ties with Mansour.
The airline giants are owned by the Abu Dhabi government and Mansour is a member of the Abu Dhabi royal family.

Dortmund's supporters have a 51 per cent share in the club, and Watzke insists he would reject the advances of any rich foreign businessmen out of hand.
'I would not even welcome him,' he added.
'What if the sheikh, as shown by Malaga, lost interest?

'The fact is that the Bundesliga has caught up considerably, thanks to their sound banking practices. This will eventually be expressed by results.

NAPOLI LAST SEASON, NOW DORTMUND SHOOTING THEIR MOUTH OFF ABOUT CITYS
FINANCES

fair play to them though, as both napoli and dort have squeaky clean financial histories!!

erm..........................

Jealous bastards... If they were the ones with the sheikh's billions they'd be singing to a different tune. Like these guys genuinely give a shit who plays "fair"... If it was them benefitting from it they'd turn a blind eye. Can't wait till we stuff these fuckers tonight.

Dont forget Bayern Munich also.

Just shows how professional and classy our club is. No horrible players on TV giving spitefull interviews or comments in the press, no slandering of other clubs before we play them. love how we do things.

And they're NOT.

City, just in case you're wondering, do not have a tycoon owner pumping money into the club from five companies he controls. Our owner controls NONE of our sponsors.

From Bluevibe:

is this the same Dortmund that went bankrupt and had to sell their ground and let half the staff go, before renting back the stadium and then sold naming rights on it despite it wasn't theirs, or is this a different Dortmund I'm thinking of

That's the one, - Lee_One_Pen
transactions arranged through their former majority owner Florian Homm, who went on the run 5 years ago with about $500M of investors' money and hasn't turned up since. He narrowly escaped death when shot in Venezuela in an "attempted mugging". Yeah, right.
