Douglas Luiz

If he comes in for 6 months and help fantastic, good for us and good for him, he will have plenty of options in the summer.

I get the feeling we have big plans for midfield in the summer but our real no1 options won't be available until then.
In the summer it will be Bruno g as I reckon we have already behind the scenes been sounding this out . Luiz is a good player and j don’t understand the negativity about him as at villa he was very good .

Can't see it being true. For a start they paid £45m for him in the summer. There is also every chance he kicks on and comes good there even the rest of this season never mind the next one.
I think the Italian way of looking at these things might be to look at the amount of cash spent on the player after taking off other deals, which is why the figure comes down quite significantly. Juventus are currently sitting outside the Champions League spots in Serie A, despite being undefeated, so they need to turn some of these draws into wins. Central midfield is a department from where they need more goals and creativity, and that might be why they are prepared to listen to offers for Luiz so soon, especially when the initial cash outlay wasn't as high as we would think.

Except it was as high as we would think. No matter how your package it, it was over £45m, at the very least.

Did we not have an uoption to buy him back at Villa - when he was in better form - for less than this. ? If he is not the right fit in the long term no point buying - loan dea lonly with no obligation only an option to buy as per the Italians usual terms when the other way around (perhaps loan out McAtee in exchange)

My Villa mate says he struggled at 1st as a lone 6. It was only when the played someone next to him that he played well. Kova could do this as the 6/8 next to him but we would want someone who can be the lone 6 to allow us to play KBD & Foden OM as the free 8s.

I think Kova could do that role if needed. Luiz and Kovacic would be a lot more solid than Kova and Gundo.

sport witness are saying juve expect €100 million from the english champions for cambiaso and luiz

Luiz on a loan makes sense for Juve and City. He's not in the Juve starting line-up and if Stones and Rodri are out for months, we have a short term risk. I don't think City will want a loan with an obligation to buy but a loan with an option to buy might work.

Think he is someone who could rotate with kovacic next to rodri (and replace bernardo) rather than be a back up to rodri so if we do sign him, think we still need another midfielder.
Makes more sense to bring in 1 player who can do both roles. I don't know who that would be but there will be players that can do it.

So £84.5m the pair? Would take that to be honest as Cambiaso is £55m-60m on his own?
it would be massive to get both the next question would be if we got to the knockout of champions league who would be registered
