Douglas Luiz

Can’t see Chelsea buying him. He doesn’t fit their MO of buying young players to develop and either win things or sell on at a profit.

Staying at the very top often requires doubling down on your strengths. I agree we didn't or dont 'need' Marmoush. But we should always get a player like him for the sake of competition at our strongest position.

Is why you go get Savio even though you had Grealish, Doku, Bernardo and Bobb.

Doubling down on strength is always a good thing. Let the chips fall where they may

We have 5 CBs and we got 2 more... True there were injury issues here... But still...

Central Midfield jas become a major weakness. True but that doesn't mean we shouldn't stack other positions.

I can see them change their MO slightly in the coming years to add players in their prime where is needed to supplement the young team they have built to have a proper go at a title.

Not sure Luiz would take them anywhere closer to a title but they do need bodies in midfield. Most critically someone that stays fit.

We've lost goals from Julian, Mahrez, Laporte, Sterling and Sane.

Grealish is going a year without a goal. Doku has less than 10 goals since he got here. Savinho has what one? And Bernardo provides maybe 5 goals a season. KDB too might be leaving soon.

So we need goals!

Don't forget where we'd be in the table if Stones hadn't had 2 late goals. If Marmoush provides goals.. we need him!

True, but I don’t see him improving them. He’s about as good as Enzo Fernandez, but with a slightly better goal output.

We 100 percent mamoosh as after he big man we ain’t got no second striker but we should have addressed the midfield first as we are getting overrun in midfield every game and if will continue until we get it sorted . Rodri cannot play every game next season and may even struggle at first to get upto scratch so if bring luiz in and he would be a valued. Squad player .

It is getting the right quality in that is the huge sticking point. The likes of Luiz and Ederson aren't quite to that level and throwing money at it either.
 
The more I see of our midfield, and that includes when Rodri is back, the more I think we need someone with more athleticism, physicality, and pace than Luiz might offer.

It’s easy to critique players we are linked with and say not good enough about every one of them like you constantly do.

You’ve never once actually suggested a player you think has the quality because you’re just a WUM.

I am far from being a wind up merchant. We should start trusting O'Rielly more than splashing the cash this season and not bringing the correct target. Neither Luiz or Ederson were really considered a couple of seasons ago

Yes you are. You never acknowledge any point made by anyone else and just reply to others posts reiterating your own points on a different tangent.

You might not think it but it’s pretty clear. If you actually read and took note of other people’s posts you might not be accused of being one so often.

I’ll say again, pep is not going to trust an inexperienced kid to try and get us top 4. Failure to get top 4 will mean the task of finding someone with the quality we need is made much harder.

Fuck it, he can't be worse than Kovacic, Gundogan, or Bernardo at the moment. Get him in pronto.
