4. France - points: 66 average: 10.94

5. Germany - points: 79 - average: 9.88

According to Opta, there is a 98% chance that the Premier League will earn an additional place in next season's Champions League.

Nunes was a scrabble to get another body in though, after missing on Bellingham, Rice and the Paqueta issue. I'm pretty sure it was reported as either getting him in or Eze and Eze was deemed harder to do.

We were quoted £80m for Ezé & reportedly had a £60m bid turned down, so in panic we bought Nunes. However, Ezé wouldn't have replaced a failing Philips, or be considered a like for like option alongside Guimarães or Paqueta as cover for Rodri.

I think the hard cold truth is Pep never took covering Rodri seriously enough, believing we had enough strength in depth to adapt without him if necessary. Guardiola was so mistaken in this respect.

You'd think that when he got suspended and we lost all 3 games last year would have been a bit of a wake up call. In fairness we started the season well without him, but by that point we should have had our back up through the door. We knew then we couldn't cope for a long period without him, we was always running the risk.

Indeedy - I added that point about Eze in to accentuate the point that it was getting another body in, rather than finding the right person for the position. Granted, Pep has played Nunes in most positions apart from midfield so who knows what he'd have done with Eze.

We had a something like 70% last year and blew it but I can’t see it happening again.
