Down To The Wire

Anyone else get the feeling that our transfer business is heading to a final day midnight scenario ala Robinho?

Only on those players sat in the departure lounge

Still remember Benjani falling asleep at the airport and missing his flight to Manchester to sign for us,which he completed after the deadline properly.

I think it will go down to the wire because we have picked this window to show the Football world we are not the dumb rich neighbours anymore. We know they want our players (or our money) and its now about establishing who is going to blink first.

It may seem like a backward step to some right now, but imo it will pay big dividends in future windows.

Last few days of the transfer window are often extremely busy, definitely think we could see some permanent outgoings in the days leading up to it's closure. Fancy some late drama in terms of signings anyway :)

I tend to think the opposite. the types of player we want are the ones that are difficult and complex to sign - image rights etc... so either they will get done in a proper manner in the next few weeks, or if there are last minute additions they'll probably be of the Benjani standard.

Shouldn't have used 'fancy', more of a hope from me rather than thinking that it will happen because I agree, the negotiations for the players we want are protracted and complex. But still, maybe in the end all we'll need on that final day is the signature.
