Strange you should bring this up, Mark.
This afternoon I went to my wardrobe and got out my No. 8 Retro City Shirt ready for the Leicester game. My thought was that I should commemorate that very special Boxing Day in 1977 when I stood in the Kippax and tears ran down my cheeks as I applauded Colin the King when he ran out for the second half. I hope many more Blues do likewise on Sunday.

I Remember in the early 80s? a drab night game away at Wolves the best ever rendition of "drink to colin the king" but I think it was the weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel bit that lasted ages rather than the wooooorld bit?
Kids of today, dont know how to sing & they have daft hair cuts!

I could have written that myself, word for word. I was also in bits when I saw the breaking news of his death earlier this year.
My all time favourite footballer, and I, too, will be wearing my retro number 8 shirt on Sunday.

Me and my pals always raise a glass to Colin The King every game. I was born in 1969 and proud to say I'm named after him. Although I never saw him play in the flesh I've still got a strong emotional attachment to him because my old man idolised him. When my dad was ill Colin sent him a card which he was made up about. I'll be made up if we sing a tribute to the King on Boxing Day.

In my very humble opinion, as a lifelong blue, I doubt I will ever see a greater player in a City shirt. I count myself as one of the lucky ones to have seen him throughout his football career. There will be players who will come close, but there will only ever be one King. Colin Bell, sleep well Sir.
