E THERE AND BACK IN NO TIME GOOD LUCK

Drove around Australia 15 years ago,took about 6months in a Toyota Hi-ace.
It was the trip of a lifetime and I would do it all again but would be a different kettle of fish with kids.
The logistics of what you are contemplating are mind boggling, good luck.

Red Tape getting in & out of some countries will be a problem .also Parking for the night without getting robbed would be a matter of concern .also spare parts fuel .food ect it needs a massive amount of research & good fortune ,another idea is doing it for charity & raising some money ,writing a book ,doing a blog or articles for a paper .radio interviews will get you great publicity & no doubt some excellent advice

I would really consider an overland bus mate, its probably more expensive but at least its safe and accomodation and food is chucked in. By car yourself your looking at going through possibly Afghanistan and other nasty countries which do not recognise international driving licences and don't appreciate you being there in general.

If you do go yourself take a lot of time to plan it, check with the embassies, plan your route carefully, not worth going the shortest route which could also be the most dangerous. On the timing i reckon if you made the odd stop over and things you could do it in around a month, probably a good idea though to then sell the car and fly back lol.
