I was taught that you only indicated if there was someone who would appreciate the signal. That made you the driver responsible, you looked around at other road users. If there was no one on the road, no signal but, if a pedestrian or car needed to know where you were going, signal.

why does everybody today drive like bank robbers ?
I just potter around , not slow but theres never a time when some idiot is behind me trying to get round driving like Emmerson Fittipaldi !! , they scream away from traffic lights trying to do 0-60 in 7 seconds , fuel they use must be incredible !!
is anybody else amazed at this ? or am i just an old fart now?

My Mrs indicates as she's turning...fucking pointless, may as well not bother and just handbrake it round and have done.
Goes all Zoopla when she's driving, pointing at houses, critising the exterior decor and estimating the price whilst looking like a demeted Italian on speed to oncoming traffic. Drivers coming the other way brake and slow down thinking she's warning them of a major traffic accident.

it’s the ones that leave their indicators on that are the biggest menace. Someone who doesn’t use them is just a **** but if you’re driving sensibly then no matter what they do you should react.
I think if you cause an accident because you’re indicating but not intending to turn you can get done for careless driving.
