Anyone been?, what's it like on a Sunday night for a few drinks. Maybe using it as a cheap stopover. Doesn't have to be brilliant just not a dead shithole.

I lived there for a few months but that was 1977 so probably changed a bit since then. It was the usual mix of good and bad pubs but they will have all changed by now.

I've had great Sunday night in Dumfries, one of Scotland's best pub towns outside Aberdeen, Glasgow and edinburgh. Fleshers, Coach and Horses, Douglas Arms, Tam O'Shanter and the Globe (High St) all good.

I think it is one of those places you struggle to get cheap digs.
