A week before the window ended. This guy is well worth paying attention to when it comes to City stories. I'd say his info is coming from people connected with ADUG.

Couldn't have put it better myself ;)

Doesn't take a genius to work out that this paragraph is pertinent:

"City's board, however, say Mancini should be able to manage his way out of this difficult period, arguing that they front-loaded expenditures last summer by purchasing Sergio Aguero as a pre-emptive replacement for Carlos Tevez, who has still to move elsewhere. Another £40m (Dh228.8m) was spent acquiring the registrations of Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy, Savic and Costel Pantilimon, with further substantial commitments made to salaries."

I'm surprised you have missed the link...

Duncan Castles also wrote the Mourinho story for the Sunday Times last week?

Very interesting. Saw on ESPN press pass the other day (I think) where they were talking about how close Duncan Castles is with Mourinho and as Didsbury Dave has pointed out he called this transfer window bang on. I'll be keeping a very close eye on what he has to say!

Castles is obviously well connected in Abu Dhabi, and has called a lot of things correctly. He said we wouldn't be signing Sneijder when Gazzetta dello Sport caused a lot of excitement with their front page 'exclusive' that he was about to join City.

I supect The National and The Sunday Times can offer him a bigger salary than Bluemoon can afford. I'll ring Murdoch and see if he'll agree to a loan deal where they pick up most of his wages.

Why should he get a salary? I do it for free.

It was said half joking, so I realise that but it would solve a lot of arguments on here if he had his own link.

You could retire half the mods overnight.

Duncan Castles is already a registered Bluemooner.

And incidentally he follows me on Twitter.

I started taking him seriously with the Sneijder article. It was quite clear at that point he had a direct line to "people familiar with the matter".
