Pink was indeed the male colour, and I've always liked it, had many a pink shirt over the years.

Wasn’t Castles implying that a footballer wearing pink made him less tough? If so, that’s just childish and stupid.

I used to think this when playing American Football re: teams who either wore red, or who wore the same colour pants as shirts. One team had red tops and pants - the 'full monty' (they got battered).

Something "pyjamary" about them made me feel like we had an edge - and I can't recall ever having lost to anyone wearing suvh a combo.

Of course it's all magic thinking.
