Phil was than 25 years older than Ian.

That’s a hell of a gap for cousins.

Mind you, with the amount of siblings that families had in the past, it’s entirely possible, if Max was the son of one of the eldest, and Ian the son of the youngest.

My grandfather, born in 1901, had 64 first cousins.

EDIT: I’ve just looked on Wikipedia, and yes, they are brothers.

Wasn’t Dickson Billy Big Bollocks, and thought he was too good for Manchester City? I seem to remember one of them acting like that.

Yes. Played a few games and his agent saw the pound signs in his eyes and City held firm.
Signed for Preston and then had a decent (but not spectacular) career in the PL with Fulham.
Sturridge and his agent tried the same stunt a few years later
