Dzeko > Carroll

He is a good strong player. Will not be as good a Drogba in his prime, that is just not gona happen. He is not as good as Dzeko either for that matter. Worth 20 mil max.

It's the we hate Andy Carroll thread! I think he's a brilliant striker with the world at his feet. He can win balls in the air, is quick, powerful, has a great shot on him and also brings others in to play. He could be as good as Drogba in his prime and will be an important figure for the England Team for the next 4 tournaments.

Pmsl as good as Drogba!

go on pull the other one.

Carroll is still better value for money than Henderson. Can't believe Marwood wanted us to sign Henderson after a very small string of impressive games for Sunderland!

Dzeko also seems to be better than Torres..
noooo realy friend

The Dzeko of late seems a lot more useful than even the sharper Torres of this season. Torres still hasn't scored while Dzeko has in both games. That said, when Chelsea add the Modric and Mata combination, there will be more service for Torres and the goals should return.

If Carroll was worth £35m then Kevin Davies must be worth £60m

just for the 50 free-kicks a game alone.

As a fan of a different club once said

I think some of the vilification against Carroll is misguided. Sometimes, in the air, I am quite shocked at his heading ability. He can get such power and direction in the sometimes.....
He's certainly not better than Edin Dzeko, though. Dzeko is a world class striker.

Despite this, I think Carroll should flourish under Dalglish's system. The propensity for direct play really does suit Carroll. He won't be a terrible buy. However, at £35mill, he's grossly overpriced. I still think he'll be an asset for liverpool, though.

Agree. I watched a lot of Newcastle last year, as I was living up there. The lad is genuinely the best player I have ever seen in the air live. He literally wins everything there is a chance of him winning, and some he has no right winning. And he's far better on the floor than people give him credit for, far better than the likes of Heskey. 35 million is overpriced. But I would say he's worth about 20 in todays market. Carroll and Suarez up front genuinely make me worry about Liverpool of the next few years. And he should be the best foil for Rooney for you lot in the England team. As long as he doesn't let his lifestyle get in his way. Last year at one point he was living at Kevin Nolan's under house arrest and threw a party with a bunch of whores and a shed load of coke while Nolan was out - this is hearsay but comes second hand from a member of the Newcastle squad and the middle man is trusted, but the player does have a tendency to exaggerate, but I wouldn't put it past Carroll as that's not the only story.

I agree 100%.

Carroll impressed whilst at Newcastle, but has arguably had only the 1 good game for Liverpool which was against us

Too soon to judge him. Dzeko took a few months to come good, and Carroll has had injury problems. Carroll's main problem is his lack of mobility.

Dzeko seems to get better with every game. I thought we wouldn't see the best of him until we got a winger to feed him with crosses, but his all round game is better than I thought. Confidence is key.

Scally Lads playing football in the park with a cauliflower > Carroll

There's too many cynics on here who haven't take a moment to watch Carroll play and especially when it's to his strengths. He's so young yet full of confidence. Dalglish has been in football far too long to spunk so much on one player.

Correct. The thread is a response to all the critics who said Dzeko wasn't good enough and that Carroll is the second coming of Christ. The thread was started as a Show Of Pride on a football forum. Why do we have so many smartarses coming on trying to contradict everyone else like some sort of 50p football expert? If I wanted to comment on the real talents of Andy Carroll or Danny Simpson I would find a thread that was related to that. This is a thread meant to trumpet the talents of Edin Dzeko and laugh in the faces of the bin dippers.

I see this as obvious.

Dzeko is more creative and a better finisher. Please show me when Carroll can pull off two world class passes that Dzeko gave to Aguero last night? Dzeko is also stronger then him. Carroll ain't got shit on Edin.

Carroll will go down as one of the biggest wastes of money in Premier League history. There's this thought he's amazing in the air, he's far from it. He also as a woeful first touch. He's a 10-12m pound player. 35m is the kind of money usually reserved for a player that could walk into just about any side in the world. Could anyone see Carroll starting for us, the rags or chelsea? Never mind Barcelona or RM. The scousers were robbed.
