Pretty sure by the time I get to reading this I will see that someone has already pointed it out to you but:

8 goals in 12 games.

Looks sharp, dangerous and lively whenever he gets the ball.

Even your alter ego Didsbury Dave thinks Balo should be a starter.

SWP - goals-to-games doesn't count for much over such a SHORT span...cause you can have a field day against a bad team (see Berbatov) and score 5 in one game...it doesn't make you a great forward in the long haul - and you should know this. It's a good indicator over a season or two, maybe.

You should also know (and I'm sure you do) that goals are not the only measure of forward's greatness. Once fit for this league, Dzeko can be a nightmare for oposing defences in ways Balo will never be able to - simply due to his physique alone. Dzeko is a lanky mofo with ball skills - and those are hard to come by. Dzeko will draw double teams in the way guys like Balo never will. Look at other intangibles also - field vision, passing ability, leadership (Dzeko was a great leader at WF)...I would never take Balo over him for Balo's temper and act alone (the guy right now is a liability, unless something changes).

In some ways those two players are actually incomparable - like in the last game when Balo was on the left and had A LOT of space to get the ball and "look sharp". Try doing that in the middle where Dzeko is, with one or two CB's riding on your azz...see how sharp he would look.

It pissess me off when people see things as black and white - cause that's not the way things are, usually.

Mate, I really rate Dzecko and have never (and will never slag him off). He looks like he could be a very good player and score many goals for us.

But Balotelli has the potential to be the best player in the world.

Now I am not Italian, I am not Bosnian, both players play for City and rate them both highly. I am not inclined therefore to show bias to either player and can judge based solely from what I have seen in the flesh at the games, on TV for previous clubs and (far more cautiously off youtube videos) and in my opinion Balotelli just has an "X factor" that truely skilled players have.

He has height, pace, strength, two good feet, skills coming out of his arse and did not win Golden Boy 2010 by accident. You, my friend, are clearly biased due to your nationality (and good for you, I like to see patriotism).

I am just pleased that they BOTH play for Man City and I get to enjoy them.

I think Dzecko is going to be a cracker as well.

Pretty fair by both of you...I have watched Balotelli at Inter and he does strike you as a talent, did score some insane goals there...but it was sporadic flash of talent...Dzeko is consistent and you will be able to witness that next season probably...Balo does look more enjoyable to watch, that must be said but his temper is getting in the way of getting to his best...if he had the mental attitude of Dzeko, he could be the best player in the world...right now, he's no where near it...and Dzeko is not showing 50% of his real ability...

Once again, I think it's almost an embarrassment of riches. A summer's worth of bedding in and then a front three of Tevez, Dzeko, and Balotelli backed by Silva, AJ (he's improved by leaps these last few months) and maybe one more signing such as Pastore or Hazard?

Sign me up.

Pastore is a menace, I've seen him last week against Fiorentina, they did lose, but he is a hell of a player...

Re: Dzeko

I think his positional sense is on par with Van Horse Face, but with better technique and all round vision of the game.

Re: Dzeko

no worries about the lad fitting in, he will do very well for us!

can tell how classy he is, will be more important to us, in the long term, than tevez imo.

Haha tell you what pal I was at game again yesterday and he looked dump again against poss poor opposition. The guy is one paced and has the first touch of Fred west. Don't know what glimpses you have seen.

Who then, looked good to you yesterday? C'mon, I really want to know. Tevez? He scored one and set one up. But wait - another player did that...could not be Edin could it? Nah, they are both shait.

Brother - please go commment cricket or something as you are either purposely being ignorant, or you simply do not know anything about football (my gut tells me option 2 it is).

Cheers.

Brother? Lol. I've forgotten more than you'll ever know about football mate. Dzeko isn't in Tevez league. He looked poor against notes county fact. As for who played well Richards and viera two best players for me yesterday.
