Van Der vaart. Vermalen. Cantona. Dugarry. Okocha. Anelka. Torres. To name a few from different teams and seasons.

Plus my argument is he has no pace and no first touch therefore no amount of time will make a difference. He isn't gonna be a great player therefore.

Took Anelka half a season before he started firing, Cantona had half a season doing nothing at Leeds before he started playing... Dugarry was a half season wonder - not repeated, Okotcha not really a striker and didnt do much anyway IMO So that leaves VDV (half season wonder) and Torres.
For those 2 what about, Bergkamp, Henry, Horseface, Tevez, Drogba, Zola all took time to settle and labelled were shit or not up to it at first, all took half a season or more to show what they could really do... getting on the back of a player, calling him shit and saying he has the touch of an elephant, isnt going to help... but as i said on the Micah thread - haters have to hate, even those they claim to 'support'

You are the sort of person who would of got rid of Drogba and Henry during their first season as they were both rubish.

You have a player who has scored goals at every level he has played at and after about 7 matches in a new country , in a new faster league than he's used to after the winter break. He's also scored 2 and had assist.

But you know enough about football to write him off. I'm glad you are not our manager or we'd be changing players every window.

You need to watch Dzeko closer, he isn't the fastest but he isn't slow he moves and looks to get in the right positions at the right times. Hewins more in the air than most strikers we've had for years. Since he camein the team although he hasn't scored its noticable we have scored more from set peices. He tries to play one touch football at times that doesn't come off as other players aren't used to him yet but it will get better.

Leave it for a season and I believe you will have a different opinion of him.

No first touch?
What Dzeko are you watching as whenever i've seen him he's looked confident and his first touch as been his best attribute so far.

his touch is fantastic for such a big guy

Re: Dzeko

My only criticism of Dzeko so far has been his strength, ability to win long balls, and snatching at a few chances.

The first two Dzeko himself has highlighted and if he thinks that will come with time I'm happy to believe him - last 2 games have been much better in this sense albeit against worse opposition.

The third is down to confidence so again isn't an issue.

I'm more than happy with his touch and his link up play: 2 assists that fans would be creaming over if it was a creative midfielder. The 2 chances he created for SWP against Aris as well... this guy has vision far beyond what you'd expect from a traditional target man.

Re: Dzeko

Players like Dzeko never get the praise by some fans. I feel he is our modern day Naill Quinn but a little bit better with the ball at his feet. Quinny back then lead the line well and Dzeko will progress and lead the line just the same way as Quinn did back in the day. What we need when we hit Dzeko from a ball up front is players running in behind him to get onto the flick ons. It will take him time to settle in the club and to English football. Saying that he wont be a prolific scorer like Tevez but he will add to a lot of moves with a couple of assits. Let the lad settle in and see how he gets on next season. We need good ball into him to attack if we dont get that then we wont see the best out of Dzeko he wont run away from defenders so it has to be more pinpoint with him in the team.

Re: Dzeko

No way am I reading 48 pages of this. However, having read a couple of Bondsman's posts, I firmly believe he is on a wind up - no way, absolutely no way can he actually believe some of the stuff he is saying.

Who then, looked good to you yesterday? C'mon, I really want to know. Tevez? He scored one and set one up. But wait - another player did that...could not be Edin could it? Nah, they are both shait.

Brother - please go commment cricket or something as you are either purposely being ignorant, or you simply do not know anything about football (my gut tells me option 2 it is).

Cheers.

Brother? Lol. I've forgotten more than you'll ever know about football mate. Dzeko isn't in Tevez league. He looked poor against notes county fact. As for who played well Richards and viera two best players for me yesterday.

By brother I meant pal or buddy or mate - so my bad if that offended you in any way. In fact, my bad if anything I said offended you - as that's not the name of the game. It's just that your disrespect of Dzeko, so premature and lacking argument after a month, is so strong that it is beyond me. It's like he personnaly did something to you, honestly.

All I'm saying is give the kid time (that's what he is at 24). At that age and potential - he is the type of player you want to have ON your team rather than AGAINST it. I GUARANTEE you will change your mind very, very soon, and I'll be there to say I told you so. And since there is definitely a market for him in PL now, I really hope it works out with MCFC...if you get me.

That said - no offense mate, just football talk and I don't get your reasoning. That's all.

Re: Dzeko

Dzeko will be great for us he just needs a few performances and a couple more goals.
Drogba took time to sdapt to the league as did carlos tevez scored 7 in 29 in his first prem season even if it was for west ham.

and as for bad first touch try watchin andy carrol the super 35mill striker with the ball played to his feet no to mention one fernando torres at the minute.

and lastly compare Dzeko to mario who has scored a few goals but only against poor sides and his performances in the every game other than the 4 he scored in have been shocking especially yesterday. Makes me laugh how he was loved just for signing for us when he just doesn't wanna be here in reality yet Dzeko wants to be here score goals and win things for all of us and cant do a thing right to all you tossers on here
