Just a thought, but perhaps it's the price Chelsea demanded for letting us have Cavani.

As Napoli have just signed Gomes you maybe onto something there....

Re: Dzeko to Chelsea

Perhaps it's the price Chelsea are demanding for backing out of a race for Cavani?

Dzeko would come alive in Chelsea's system.

No thanks.

wtf, is that you my friend? I think it is better to buy Edison and sell Edin so we realize how much impact Edin made while playing here. I hope we buy wingers (Navas plus xxxx) and additional MCs to replace Yaya while at ACON and Nasri or Silva when they are tired or injured.
ACON is every 4 years right?

Wrong.

would be silly to sell to a rival.

Yes. How the hell do you sell a 27 million pound player to a Rival?
Imagine if we had sold Robinho to United or Chelsea, how about Balotelli?
I'm not saying don't sell. I'm just saying don't sell to Chelsea or Nited.
I'll be happy to bet that this will never happen.

Noone, for me, FI. If he's happy to be one of four strikers then keep him. Whilst Tevez is a great player when on top of his game, given his contract situation and the way he affects the way the team plays (you can't really play a one/two touch passing game) I wouldn't be heart broken if Tevez left either.

Regarding Tevez,i'm beginning to think similar,i just don't see where his 'style' will fit into our new approach as his play, while being wholehearted,is often far too selfish for the greater good of the team.As much as i admire him,he is certainly expendable.

Regardless,we definitely need a clinician, hopefully that is Cavani,if so,and no one leaves, other than the restraints of FFP.......i just cant see us keeping all happy and would there really be a need to keep a saleable asset, who is on a huge contract, like Dzeko?

So,in summary, one of Tevez or Dzeko,or possibly even both..... need to make way.

Re: Dzeko to Chelsea

No no no. This is what happens if we sell Dzeko to one of our two rivals.

Re: Dzeko to Chelsea

Intriguing story. Did someone suggest Chelsea might be playing games, using Dzeko as a stalking horse for Cavani? Doesn't make sense to me - you can only play that game when you are clearly ahead in the bidding. Because we are presumably equal in the running, I read it the other way around - Napoli want Dzeko and we drop this story to give them the hurry up.

Cos I just don't believe it. Special Man uses lone strikers in a specific way - Drog was charged with keeping all four defenders busy. Benzema is an accomplished link player who made space for Ronaldo, Ozil, etc. Dzeko has shown precious little ability at either task, in this league, anyway. It's just too hectic, too much pressure, you can't learn how to hold the ball up this late in life, against defenders who have been nudging the striker on those long balls, since they were five. He would thrive in Italy, however, where defences hold their shape more. and he would be THE main man at Napoli, which is his psychological niche.

This. I think Chelsea are playing our bluff and City need to ignore it, does anybody think we would sell to a rival? I don't.

Re: Dzeko to Chelsea

What's so bad about selling to a rival? especially when its done to strengthen and in knowledge said player isn't all that. You wouldn't sell kolarov/garcia to Chelsea either?
