That's not why the e-cig ban is in place though is it? I thought it was to help out our thicko stewards who can't tell the difference between an e-cig and a real one.

E cigs look nothing like a normal cigarette

More to do with the vapour/smoke I think
In that case I take it breathing will be banned this winter.

Not all those ciggies look like that. The one my brother uses looks like a real cigarette, and I'm sure there are a few others.

Anyway, I'm not a smoker so really don't care.....I'd be more interested if they allowed me to take a pint back to my seat.

Have the smokers ever considered that the club are protecting the vast majority of fans who find smoking a totally disgusting and filthy habit

if the club put it to a vote of season ticket holders I am sure all smoking would be banned from the stadium

Have you tried not smoking?

Hahaha. Second reply.

You haven't even fucking bothered reading the OP have you? The standard mithering response..... don't smoke. What part of 'it isn't smoking don't you get'?

If it isn't smoking why do it? Why get addicted to something that makes people look much more of a dick than actual smoking? No offence. :)

But vaping is allowed on a plane.
When did it become illegal to smoke on a plane?

When did E-Cigs become readily available?

I honestly have no idea what the answer to these 2 questions is, but I'd guess at the first date being numerous years before the later, so whilst you don't have to deal without a "cig" on a plane now, there will have been a prolonged period of time when you did, and people managed it.
So fucking what if they did or didnt manage it?

I'm sure you could manage 12 months with a drink but would you wish to just to appease someone that was teetotal and that your boozing didn't affect?
The issue with E-Cigs isn't the harm they cause, as they cause no harm whatsoever. The issue is that they make it difficult to distinguish who is smoking and who isn't. A great deal of E-Cigs these days look very much like actual cigarettes, and certainly from a distance, and on CCTV, they look very much the same. It makes policing the ban more problematic.

Whether you agree with the ban on smoking on planes or not (and in a great deal of cases even E-Cigs are banned on planes) people still adhere to it, mainly because the consequences of failing to do so are pretty severe. People flaunt the rules at City because they aren't as fearful of the consequences.

-- Fri Sep 06, 2013 10:44 am --

I always viewed it as an alternative to smoking.

It can be used to allow smoking in places where actual cigarettes are banned, but also it can be used as part of quiting. E-Cigs have nicotine levels, and you can buy E-Cigs which have progressively less and less nicotine in them. Kind of like nicotine patches, but they fulfil the oral fixation element too so probably reduce the desire to eat and, therefore, the chance sof weight gain during the quiting process.
