E.L.O

I seem to remember reading that George Harrison was once asked what type of music would the Beatles be making if they were still around, and he replied ELO
you ever listen to the travelling wilburys with george harrison, whats his face from elo, tom petty, bob dylan and roy orbison? nothing groundbreaking but i quite like listening to a few of their songs now and then - just good musicians with nothing left to prove having a bit of a laugh. shame orbison had to go and die so early on, when you hear him come in on the songs they did you can see just how brilliant a voice he had.
They were a good band. Imagine, singers who can sing! ;-)

Shame 2 of them aren't with us any more. R.I.P Roy & George.

The amount of talent in that band was frightening. You're right when you say they were just having a laugh, all power to em I say.

there's another thing. I reckon if the big O was better looking he'd have
been 100 times bigger and better than Elvis at the time, 50s 60s

Hard to know. Orbison was arguably a better musician/singer, but Elvis was the ultimate showman of his day. And looks did/still do count. Sad, but true.

Still a classic album, 30 years on. I remember buying that as a limited edition blue vinyl release. Still have it somewhere! Vinyl? Ask your parents.

First album I ever bought... Ended up with the full collection. Loved them at the time but lost interest once puberty really kicked in, but still love listening to this album, on vinyl, from time to time...

Concerto for a rainy day... Fantastic!

Have loved ELO ever since their debut single around 1973 with 'Showdown' , which i bought ........ fantastic group back then with hit after hit , and still at it i think.

Seen the real deal and the tribute bands...

Fantastic and stands the test of time...

Livin thing being my fav...

ELO, Alan Parson Project and SAGA was big favs for me and i still love hearing their music

I HATE The Wilburys, purely because up until he got involved in them, Tom Petty was a great talent, and everything he has done since, has been bland, boring shite. Compare anything on Damn The Torpedoes, Hard Promises, the S/T debut, or Southern Accents etc, with Free-fcukin'-Fallin and the like. Hard to believe its the same artist.

ELO had their moments though. Recall seeing them at The Free Trade Hall once, great live.
