Here, there, and every fucking where
Why do people insist on putting up Christmas decorations in mid November? It's November FFS! We never put our tree or decorations up until the second Saturday in December, so the earliest is 8th, latest would be the 15th. For some reason it also appears to be council estates where this happens. Genuine question, why?

Three answers:

They have fuck all else in their sad, pathetic lives

They love Christmas and making their children's and some of the local children's days happier in the run up

Somewhere between the two answers above

Xmas decs brighten the place up at a time of pervading grey, damp, cold drabness.

So why not? Who's to say what is/is not the appropriate time?

It is a time for fun rather than being bound by a sense of adherence to anachronistic timetables.

It's not against the law is it? Doesn't hurt anyone does it? They can do what they want, even if free will is illusory.

I've not seen any while driving about yet anyway actually. The sooner the better this year, it's hasn't been a paricularly good one news wise. I say get some festive cheer going.

There's a few houses not far from here where the external lights are left dangling from the roof and walls all year and then at Christmas they get switched on.

Probably get them up for the 1st of Dec to coincide with the kids advent calendars any earlier and its overkill for me but each to there own
