Early Christmas Decorations.

My Mrs is online now looking at Christmas trees even though we have got 2 used ones boxed up in various cupboards, when i'v just asked her why she said ''you just get ready and fuck off to the match'' that's me put in my place then

Used to tell my lad when he was young he'd have to count a 100 Xmas trees when being driven back from school before ours would go up. Usually it'd be the second week of December.

Saw some last Tuesday when visiting friends in Ashton (not there's).

Doesn't help when Oldham Council start putting illuminated trees up in November.

When I was on my own one year when the kids were younger I left my tree up until about April. Happy times!

Have seen quite a few up already I don't usually bother until the sat before Christmas but might put them up earlier this year as my grandson is now old enough to be excited and love it :)

Will still take them down though day after Boxing Day

I wish I could get my wife to agree to that. I dont mind so much when they go up early, its when they're still there in January that I've had enough.

We have a 16 month old grandson. Obviously he will not understand Christmas but he's more than capable of creating havoc at the sight of a Christmas tree.

Oi, that's my line!!!

I wait until my daughters decide when they are going to put up the tree, then I get the boxes out of the garage and go out for the day. Job done. When my youngest leaves home, she can take them with her.

My eldest daughter's tree is already up. We were discussing the whole concept of Christmas yesterday, and she said that I never showed my dislike of it when she and her sister were kids. I said that, from a parent's point of view, you wanted your kids to have a great time, so you "masked" your own thoughts to let them enjoy themselves. Now that they're grown up, and their mum is no longer with us (RIP) they know my views.

Bloke on my street -
1st October up goes the Halloween decorations, the pumpkins on the doorstep, broomsticks and small plastic witches on the porch, plastic gravestones on the lawn etc etc.
1st November up goes the Thanksgiving decorations, inflatable turkey (I kid you not) amongst other items. Thanksgiving is this coming Thursday so on Friday the Xmas stuff will be all over his lawn as it is every Xmas.

Yesterday I called some company or other twice, and was put on hold twice and forced to endure jingle bells and Rudolph the rag nose reindeer as background music....

I just let the wife decide. Much easier

This and only this! Mrs Moth decides when they go up and it usually involves me getting out of the way and heading for the pub!
