Early Leavers

Because you're criticising someone's personal choice even though it affects you in no way whatsoever.

Let me tell you and every other early-leaver-basher on here something: when you are offended by someone leaving early, NOTHING HAPPENS. Absolutely nothing. Like, literally fuck all, so all of you get off your high fucking horses and let people watch the game in their own way if it's not causing physical or actual mental harm to another supporter.

We have this thread after every fucking home game.
So what's the point of going to the game then? I go to support the team, and in 35 years I have never left a game before the final whistle and never will. To do so is to turn your back on the team, and your fellow blues who stay behind.

You see the game as some form of personal entertainment. It's not. It's your club, and your there to share the pain or the glory and in the old days fans used to get behind the team at 0-0 and roar them on for one last effort, or at the very least scream penalty at even the slightest hint of one.

I’m with you 100% Marvin - you can’t be a true blue unless you give 100% support to the club and team.

You can’t be a true blue if you:

• Don’t watch the team get off the coach and clap them on arrival. Pre-match motivation you know.

• Don’t get in your seat early to applaud them in the warm up.

• Don’t get in your seat before kick-off and sing the boys on to the pitch

• Don’t buy your pre-match beer/food etc from official MCFC outlets...FFP and all that

• Don’t wear a full City replica kit for every game.

• Don’t attend games when you have a season ticket. More than usual empy seats today and it’s no excuse that it was only Reading and the saturday before XMAS

• Don’t sing non-stop for the full 90 minutes showing how much you care

• Don’t ever go to an away game and show your support

You can’t be a true blue if you:

• ever go for a piss during the game

• ever leave your seat early before half-time to save time in the beer/food queue

• ever slag off a City player even though they are trying their best

• ever boo a substitution (and effectively Mancini) as happened the other week

• ever turn your back on the team when the game is in play i.e Poznan

That probably only leaves me and you as true blues Marvin. The thing is tho, despite having watched City live over 1200 times, I do sometimes leave early. Hope that’s ok.

Quite agree, absolute disgrace - there may be the odd plausible excuses but those who turn up late, disappear after 35+ minutes, return half way through the second half then go about 80/ 5ish why bother?

WELL THATS ABOUT 20K THEN

Lost me there?

I MEANT FOR ALL THE ABOVE,getting in late, going for a pint, coming back late and going early, dont you watch the people doing this

This was taken from the article about the QPR game. The quote is from a man who has won almost every honour in the game:

Vieira: At 2-1 down with five minutes to go I was really stressed and started to sweat. You start to think you have thrown it away. I got really frustrated because I wasn’t playing anymore and couldn’t control anything that was happening. I’m not someone to really express it but on the inside I was very tense. People started to leave the stadium and when you look around and see that you think, “S***.”

Today, someone backdoored it from block 101 on 89" min with the derisory drone of "Well that's the league gone".

As people have pointed out, you pays your money you make your choice. However don't try and legitimise it with a negative comment on your way out.

Results speak for them self then, today and on the occasion you have quoted paddy on( who btw was a spectator not in the team). we won both games when some fans left..
Maybe we should all leave early and then the team will pull its finger out!!

Without being cliched about the "#Together" message, I think it's pretty safe that World Cup, Euro Champs, League, FA Cup etc etc winner Patrick Vieira was part of the team. Perhaps not on the pitch, but there making a difference nonetheless.

As for people leaving early and us scoring, I'd suggest it's in spite of them, not because of them. I'd wager a million pounds to a penny that we've scored more goals with a full stadium than when people are leaving in droves.

That wasn't my main point though. My issue was about negheads attempting to legitimise their early exit. Leave if you want, just don't try and encourage others to do it with counteractive comments to ease your conscience.

Us early leavers have no conscience. Scum of the earth we are!!
