Eating out in Manchester

The Koffee pot on the Great Ancoats side of Oldham Street if you can get in. The last couple of times I have tried to get a breakfast there it's been a 40 minute
wait. The breakfast is bang on though....and tea and toast is included in the price.
This new fad by cafes of advertising a full breakfast at a certain price and then charging another £1.50 for a slice of toast and £2.50 for coffee pisses me off.
Got caught out in a cafe on New York St behind Piccadily when they served me my breakfast with no tea/coffee or toast and it cost me an extra £6.00 to upgrade.

That was my vote
But it does irk me that there are no free tea refills

Cafe Metro was a huge personal favourite and I was devastated when it closed. I was possibly half way up Oldham Street when I last had something. Past The Night & Day.

Surely you can’t go wrong with pizza somewhere?

Recommendations for a lunch menu in Chinatown?

Off to see Peter Kay tonight but need feeding.
Not Chinatown but the Ricebowl on Cross Street is very good and VFM, Jill Scott was in there last time I went, fillet steak Cantonese style was excellent.

Edit, if you don’t want Ala Carte the “lunch” menus is available until 5pm, from £19.50 for two courses.

great restaurant and if it's good enough for Silva

Absolute rank last time I went in

Went to 'Only Yu' and had the lunch menu for £19.50.
Hot and sour soup
Salt and pepper chicken wings x6 with extra chilli
Beef in black bean sauce with plain chow mein

Absolutely spot on....

What's everyone's favourite? Piccolono''s have been in fine form for a few years now and I don't think they get enough credit. Be good to hear some recommendations. Got a meal at Canto booked. First time eating around there. Any Xmas work meal successes?
