Pep puts Bobby on right wing. Eze plays mostly on the left or in the middle occupying exactly same zone as Foden Grealish and Doku. It is difficult to see how Bobb injury leads to signing Eze unless either Grealish or Doku permanently moved out of that zone.Long term injury so cross that bridge when we come to it.
Right winger is actually the most loaded area with Savio Bernado Foden Bobb all capable of playing there plus James actually played there during his loan.
However we desperately need a cover for Rodri or Walker. Or a backup striker if someone comes in a fair price.

wasnt doku a right winger at rennes before he came to city so him and savinho could swap and change and then you ahve bernardo, grealish and foden who can also play in those spaces tbf, i feel bad for the kid but we are decently stocked in those areas.that depend of course on Pep and his preference

There will be enough rotation between Foden and KDB plus James and Nunes as backup. Pep does not see Foden KDB James or Nunes defensive enough to be deployed next to Rodri which means they can only occupy the one attacking midfielder spot or as a false 9 in our 442 defense shape. Eze is certainly less defensive than Foden. I don't see any game time available in that spot unless KDB leaves. Plus it will also mean we drop out of the race for a big name 10 next summer because Eze will demand good wage and game time if he chooses City over Spurs - who has already chased him for quite a long time. No foreign players will ever consider to directly compete with 2 english internationals for one spot in a PL team. Again I am not against the idea of signing new players but it will mean we have to sell some players to make room for them. Otherwise no one will get enough game time to grow and adapt. Eze is at his peak he will hardly accept a bench role. Someone around 30 may say yes.Also there will be heavy rotation with the new tournaments and international games.

the problem for buying someone like Eze for starters is that once Bobb returns he is either going to take up Bobbs minutes (and for me Bobb is a better player already than Eze) or when Bobb returns we have another Phillips situation where a player who aint getting gmes could end up just taking space in the squad.
Im not convinced that Eze is anywhere near the quality that we need...and Bobb for me is levels above Eze in terms of technical ability, working in tight spaces, close control and ability to beat a man

I think this would impact bobb more than anything. He might be out for 3 months and we might sign a 60m replacement, which would make it even harder for him to get into the side.

More options for Pep to thinker is very good.
I don't think Mcatee will get much game time, looks like he is this seasons Gomez
Nunes, more likely a winger, maybe pivot with Kova vs lesser teams

I don’t think he needs to be replaced. Often he was playing in the 10 role and we have foden, Bernardo and Mcatee who can play that role. I think we have more than enough cover and better players than Eze.Out of curiosity, What's your preference regarding replacing Alvarez or do you think he needs replacing?
If we are singing Eze to play on the right I think it will mean less minutes for players like bobb and Mcatee, which I don’t want to see.
If we are signing a pure striker to compete with haaland they would have to be happy with a bench role.

what happens when bobb comes back though? We’d then have Eze who would basically be blocking bobb from game time.
He’s a decent player, but I don’t think in the long term he’s better than what we have.
Eze can play all across the frontline.
If I'm being honest... Jack has to start doing more now.
If Jack doesn't have a good season this season, I'd be phasing him out for Eze.
That's just how I see it. Bobb for me is going to be far better than Grealish and Doku so I'd make sure Bobb got plenty of opportunities.
He could also be seen as a long term replacement for Bernardo- ultimately he’s 30 now and may fancy a move back to benfica for example next summerEze can play all across the frontline.

I think Eze would make a good striker, he’s got great control, good attacking players on, good finisherI like him but he's just not what we need. We need a 6 and a striker. I'd rather us not sign anyone if it's not in one of those two positions.
Give mcatee minutes, bobb to pick up where he left off. Just no need for him.
