Ebola Outbreak

It seems that even if the saliva/mucous were to enter the mouth or eye from a cough/sneeze you will become infected. If you get it on your skin you have to wash it off immediately. The fact that people are getting it in full protective suits taking them off shows that it's an arse. If one kid were to get it at playschool that would easily spread to the whole class within a week

If Ebola is incurable, then why are we sending medical people over there, a cure will eventually be found in a lab thousands of miles away.

We seem to be increasing our chances of an outbreak in Britain when medics return, just being pragmatic.

It's not exactly incurable some people have survived, we are assisting these poor countries in getting proper quarantine facilities to help stop it spreading

Ok but it's still spreading and as a direct result of foreign aid workers going in to the hot zone it is now in Spain, possibly Aus and god knows where else. Two Brits with it (one dead) in Macedonia is a strange one...this disease could be anywhere in the world by now

This reminds me of the series in the 70's; The Survivors I think it was called. Not in how it will pan out, more in the opening titles where it showed an airplane passenger spreading it because of their travels.

It says "ALERT INFO AWAITING CONFIRMATION - Already 85 suspected cases of Ebola in France" No idea who is responsible for that twitter account though or whether it is reliable in any way. If it's true then this is becoming well and truly fucked very rapidly.

Last week's predictions of there being a 75% chance of it reaching France within 3 weeks and a 50% chance here may be accurate after all.

As of now it is incurable.

People have recovered, their own immune system was responsible.
Experimental treatments are being tried but are so untested we won't know if they were responsible for people surviving or not.

UPDATED: A building belonging to French health authorities was cordoned off on the outskirts of Paris on Thursday after a suspected case of Ebola was reported. Around sixty people were effectively quarantined but authorities later confirmed it was a false alarm.

We need to know what kind of danger we are in as we are hearing conflicting info from different sources , some experts say low risk or no risk at all and we hear today that there could well be an outbreak in the uk .
