Echeverri Signs

I hope he turns out to be good, I am a bit wary of the all the latest worlds best young talent that we buy ending up at Arsenal.
I know what you mean....But Jesus, before his two serious injuries, was,in my opinion, one of the most exciting forwards I've ever seen play the game.
You have to think back to those times,.....before the destructive knee injury.,..the lad was class.pure quality.Brazils no.9 no less....and Brazil is a big country....he rose to the very top, went to. City, and i remember him
Scoring proper centre forward headed goals ,as well as dazzling skills on the floor. He was pure magic.
Then came the injuries ,and being forced to run and press the defence for 90 mins..under peps orders..like a Paul dickov...,..

It is,imo,no wonder,he never achieved the heights he could off
But early Jesus,uninjured..,.was electric.in my eyes anyway.....
A fantastic player ,who suffered the same injury,as Paul Lake, but came back....
Do not forget the hard yards this young lad put in for City!

Yeah it wasnt just Jesus though, and I had forgotten he got a big injury. But Zinny, when he was coming... Next best midfielder in the world and we've got him.
I tend to wait nowadays until they put on the City shirt and play for the first team. Talking of which, it seems Pep is rushing the new buys into first team action, ready for next year I guess... Hopefully it will be the same with this guy/.

When are we actually going to see him play? He wasn’t even in the squad on Saturday. It’s now March. Is he more Kakey than Julian?

Hang on a minute he’s only just signed because we let him stay for the under 20 World Cup. He had then had either 0 or 1 training sessions before the Plymouth game so he was never going to be in the squad. Now less than a week later you’re trying to write him off. Fucking hell only on Blue Moan

It's not like he's had a choice with the new guys, even more so with Ake now done for the season (maybe).

We’ve signed the invisible man, while our season goes down the pan.

Jesus was great for us in our greatest ever team in 2017/18. And he scored one of our greatest ever goals for the 100 points. That's not a bad legacy.

Agreed. When he first arrived he was magic and was keeping Sergio out of the side. I seem to remember he wasn't the same after an injury away to Bournemouth if I remember rightly. Plus Sergio adjusted his game slightly to thrive in a Pep side which gave him less chances.

Not to demean Gaby's contribution, he finished with aplomb, and I always rated him during the seasons he was with us, but that was maybe 60%-70% Kev's astonishing assist.
It bears repeating, and it must be repeated regularly — Kev was the hub of that team that year, everything turned round him. His best ever season for us (and he's had some good ones in the meantime). Should definitely have got POTY. But it's always the goal scorers who get the attention.

Highly doubt we'll see him this season. And that's fine.

As long as he beds into the squad well enough then he'll be ready and firing to go next season.

Shame he didn't come in January because he'd have got similar minutes to Reis IMO.

These sort of signings range from Marlos Moreno and Kaykey up to Gabriel Jesus and Julian Álvarez.

Good sign that he’s training with the first team, but would he have when we had De Bruyne, DSilva, BSilva and Gündoğan all bang in their prime in about 2019? Is it more situational with us not being as good anymore rather than a sign he’s going to be brilliant?

Proper ‘let’s wait and see’ signing. No expectations on him will do him good though, less pressure.

Pep was asked about City's plans for Echeverri in a press confererence and he said that he would go into training with the 1st team with a view to playing towards the of the league season
