Yet he hasn't touched Bale's record at Spurs, who had even less talent to surround him with. 26 he scored in his last season with Spurs, 21 in the league, with far lesser players than Hazard plays with.

Again, did he go missing in the Copa Del Rey or Champions League final? To use "going missing" against a player to promote Hazard is the definition of ironic.

Cant argue with his form at spurs he was unstoppable, but that has been nearly three years and i don't remember his final season being all that...Yes hazard has had a season of mediocrity so far, but the shit going on at chelsea and the knowledge he probably won't be staying is enough to explain that away. I mean who would have banked on chelsea being toward the bottom at new year when this season began?

The point being bale goes missing as part of a super squad of players regularly playing against shite uncompetitive teams, in a league where most teams roll over for the big boys still. The other thing being hazard is a totally different type of player, he wont ever be a pure goal scorer like bale, he works in different ways. It would be like holding a lack of goals against spanish dave...kind of misses the point greatly.

Having said that i still think hazard would score as many, if not more, playing as part of that real squad AND generally have more of an impact.

26 goals, 10 assists and his goals earned Spurs 25 points that season. If you can't recall that kind of season "being all that" then I'm afraid it doesn't bode well for the rest of your views so we'll have to leave it at that.

Ok...i accept i don't recall the finer details of his final spurs season, or rather couldn't be arsed to wiki it for specifics because its a moot point anyway. However, there was still a quiet spell during his final couple of seasons at spurs somewhere that definitely happened....to be fair though, as i said, that has little bearing on him vs hazard in the last season or two.

Hazard is more valuable in the now which is not only the professional analysts view, but even in fifa he's better rated, which while meaning little tells you what the powers that be think of the two.

How you rate them both personally comes down to taste in players, hazard brings a whole different package to the table with less goals, but far more finesse and creativity. If he adds more goals to what he already has, whilst getting back to the form he showed last season, then we'll both be in agreement i'd wager. A move to any of the top three clubs in the world would see this happen, because he's the type of player who flourishes in those leagues...less physical and more agile.

If i could call the difference in one way i'd say bale is a perfect premier league runner that scores goals, hazard is a maestro that fits into teams like barca's who end up destroying other good teams...even top class ones.

For me i prefer the latter type "no contest"...

+1

If I had to guess which player Pep would prefer to have, then Hazard all day I imagine. Incredible close control and dribbling and can take on multiple opponents in the Messi mould. Obviously he isn't anywhere near as devastating in front of goal though.
