Eden Hazard

We didn’t. But Bernardo still played through the middle, playing in a slightly different role to a normal striker, we looked very good playing that way.

It’s a false 9... same as Barca- they also interchange- it is NOT a centre forward... anyone knowing football will tell the same..

What are you going on about? No one has said Bernardo played centre forward today. I was just saying Bernardo played through the middle and he looked brilliant in that position, like few have already said.

Unless he really really wants to come here, it won’t happen, Chelsea will do everything they can to avoid it.

I never quite get why people even try comparing KDB and Hazard(although Belgians pick KDB judging by the awards he's has been given) Hazard cannot do what KDB does can you even imagine him in that role picking out the passes KDB does? By the same token KDB isn't a player who dribbles past 5 players and finds the top corner, they hurt teams and score in different ways.

I think we'd be unstoppable with Hazard in our team(best attack in Europe a certainty) but Chelsea probably know that and would be mad to sell him let alone let him come to a direct rival such as us.

Missed the boat when he had his chance.....gonna go with him leaving for Madrid in the summer who will be on somewhst of a rebuilding job after this seasons fiasco

Chelsea will be forced to sell him next summer, otherwise they're getting an issue akin to Sanchez one in a year. If Madrid don't come after him, it's a free way for City. I guess Txiki has a direct phone line to Flo and knows the situation.

From anything I've seen he dedicated maybe a dozen words to us in an interview. Nothing out of the ordinary.
As I've said previously, it seems after Sanchez went to ManUre, journo's have revisited the brief words Hazard mentioned in that interview regarding his admiration of our style of play, put 2+2 together & got 1.

Thought the same about Laporte rumour (he had mentioned City in his interview couple of days earlier) and look how it's turned out.

Hazard's transfer would be very logical - he suits 'false 9' position like noone in the world (IMO, better than current version of Messi who's more like 10 these days). Pep would turn him into a goalscoring machine, solving the striker problem which is, in my opinion, City's weakest spot right now.

Joining City would mean competing for both team (PL, CL) and individual (B d'Or) awards for Hazard, perhaps even a chance to become one of the GOATs, he still has time and potential for it.

I think Laporte was different in that he was already a failed transfer target & was again linked to us. It wasn't that long ago that Hazard was taking the piss out of Sterling's gait either, which would make things a little awkward for him should he ever arrive!

I dunno. Don't get me wrong, Hazard is a brilliant player, but just a couple of sentences of him in an interview wanting Chelsea to keep the ball on the ground like City & not resort to long balls like ManUre seems a bit too far fetched to say it was a come & get me plea. I'm not saying you're claiming that, but hopefully you understand what I'm getting at.

I found this paragraph very interesting -

In the last week the Blues have been trying to do the bulk of their "summer" business in January. A move for Aymeric Laporte should be completed before Wednesday's deadline, while they have been trying to persuade Shakhtar Donetsk to sell midfielder Fred this month. There is also a third name on the agenda, though senior officials are keeping his name close to their chests and even in the middle of last week it was believed there would not be enough time to sign him.

Sam mentioned Hazard as a summer target and although we're interested in signing him, but there has been no official contact with the player or Chelsea. Which means that the third player mentioned above is someone different. Who is the mystery man?
