Eden Hazard

Real want Neymar and PSG want to keep hold of Mbappe....Can't see Mourinho wanting him and Barca are after Griezemann which leaves us and possibly Juve or Bayern in the running....I'd be surprised if either of them would spend 150 on a single player with Juve needing 4 or 5 new players in the summer....So it's on...? Still think Roman will offer him a new contract at 400k plus
 
I understand the arguments for rotation; no player can play every game in every competition. Quick question though; fast forward to late may next year. We're in the CL (BOOOOO!!!!) final; as long as we don't have to play Wigan, it's not impossible. And we have a fully fit squad (weird) to pick from, and they've had two weeks rest since the end of the season. Looking at our strongest XI, who would you drop for Hazard?

Obviously you are right you won’t transform a 27 year old but you would see a different Hazard playing in our front 3 than we have with him being asked to play up front alone in an ultra defensive formation. He clearly hated being asked to play that role and it showed and he was ineffective performing a thankless task.
 
If we're going to play 3 at the back more often next season i think we'll see less of Sane and Sterling hugging the touchline (Sane and Mendy will want to occupy the same space).

The system will be better suited for wide players who are more comfortable on the inside (Hazard and Bernardo).

Better options for different systems. If any of that makes sense?
 
I'd be concerned about buying any Chelsea player after the way they down tools on a regular basis

If he is available for around £100 mil and he wants to come you don t think twice.
 
World class talent swept up in the chaos of Chelsea.
Would be a fantastic signing for us, and would be able to operate on either wing, as an attacking CM or as a false 9.
At least 5 years of elite standard left in him.
Forget the price, it’s getting Chavs to admit they are a spent force that is the challenge (as this is what selling their best player to us would mean)
If there is any chance - we should go for him
 
First of all to people saying Hazard can't play up top because in Chelsea he can't and he doesn't like it. In Chelsea he played as a true no.9, receiving the ball and holding up the play, that's not how our forward plays. If he plays no.9 for us it will be the false 9 like how Messi did for Barca.
 
Pep has said another attacking player may come in.....hazard, mahrez and zaha etc being muted. I actually think we might see Sane deployed a little more centrally in the future, I know his wing play is outstanding and his understanding of when to stay wide and when to come in defies his young age, but I also think he has all the attributes to be an outstanding central forward in he future. He has the physique, the speed, the calmness in front of goal and also that little bit of nastiness required when playing up top!
I could well be wrong but I can really see him up top centrally in the future (interchangeable at all times may I add).

I think the next step will be for the front 3 to be so fluid and so interchangable that the marking defenders wont have a fucking clue who is marking who.

Whoever comes in will possibly have to be able to switch flanks, play through the middle as the game goes on.

As regards to hazard. If a world class player is available, we have to go for them

Where has this £150m come from, is it your inflated price you are putting on him to try and strengthen your argument?

Are you also saying that everyone Pep inherited or bought in have not changed their playing style?

Just say you dont rate him/dont like him or whatever, that's fine, but you are throwing out very weak arguments to justify your view imo.

I don't think Sane possesses specific vision and skills required to play centrally. And he's still quite inept tactically, thrives in a rigid system where he can pass even without looking, but becomes a headless chicken in a less familiar surroundings (just watch him playing for German NT).

Xavi has mentioned Sane in his interview as an example of a player that can play only 'outside'. Athletic player that can be devastating on the wing, like Ronaldo or Bale, but that's it: “Sané would have a hard time playing inside. Because he does not have the capacity to dribble or to make the turn that creates space. That type of turn is made by Messi, Iniesta, Silva, De Bruyne or Gundogan and if you really push me, Sterling. Not Sané. He needs space.”

That's why I wouldn't put Sane in the same category as Hazard, O.Dembele or Mbappe who have superior vision, sense of surroundings and can play centrally. Different tools for different purposes.

The only hope is that hazard says he wants to leave? He has 2 years on his contract and no champions league next season?
