Hazard not a Pep type player? Now I've seen it all. Fuck's sake even Silva wasn't the tackling machine that he is now under Pep. And KdB didn't track back like he does now. Pep has turned him into a world class B2B mid from a pure AM. Hazard is Messi lite. He doesn't work hard at Chelsea because they play with Kante and Bakayoko - 2 defensive mids and is therefore required to be always in the final third or the opposition's half. He is also a charming guy and great in the dressing room by all accounts. The story is not bullshit because all it says is that if Hazard's contract situation is not resolved by season end, City will try to get him. It doesn't say that we've signed him nor does it say that Hazard is pushing for a move away from Chelsea. It's literally just saying that he is a transfer target and Pep fancies him. I don't see what exactly is unbelievable there.Think the whole story is bull shit can't see it happen and don't think he's a Pep type player in that he doesn't work hard enough and isn't great in the dressing room from all accounts.

As outlandish as it sounds, the key would be Real’s summer shopping list. Problem being though that IF they went for Neymar you could guarantee that PSG would then be in for Hazard too.
We declined and withdrew from the player's contract transfer negotiations in 2012 when the price was 35 million due to our refusal to pay commission to the player's agent, and we are willing now to pay 150 million?
If I remember correctly, it was also because if FFP restrictions that time with them primarily focusing on us. If we get Fred and Laporte now , maybe hazard is the only player we buy in the summer

Not sure about that tbh. We haven’t done yet under Guardiola, as the squad needed a complete overhaul, but now it only needs tweaking. No reason why we won’t see similar spends in future, only difference is it’ll be on a couple of players rather than 5/6.
The thing that puts me off is that when I've seen Belgium play it seems that KDB and Hazard seem to work against each other.
Guardiola’s a better manager than Martinez. I’m sure he’d find a solution (not that I think we’ll get him).

I disagree, think there has always been the possibility of us paying a huge sum for a “worldie” - we’ve been at the table for Messi and pretty sure we tried for Neymar too.Less than zero chance of us going for him can’t see us paying over 100m for anyone in the near future.

It’s only a good thing.. no bad involved- we want players buying into the long term project- and that won’t necessarily be the highest earners- prime example; who would you have- KDB or Sanchez?..

Even Pep is quoting that we can’t spend 80m 90m 100m on a player but yeah if we only after 1 top player in a summer we may spend what it takes but that player needs to be world class.
