Chelsea will not sell to a rival
The End
Pep has just given us all the heads up that we aren't in a position to spend record sums on a player, after last week explaining that we aren't going to upset the apple cart by paying higher wages to a player coming in.
So on here: we might be signing Hazard for 150 mil.
The same player who we could have signed several years ago, but pulled out due to outrageous financial demands.
But this time, presumably his agent won't want a huge payoff & Hazard a genuine 'A' list player, will be happy to play for us, for less money than 29 year old, B list Sanchez is getting at Utd, rather than earn more, at Real Madrid.
Sounds feasible.
Pep said we couldn't spend big on 1 player so far, but that might change in the future.
Also any other manager makes comments about not being able to afford people or having limited spending and you'd be the first to say they're sending a message to their board/owners. Certainly declaring we can't have 22 top players just before dropping 60m on a CB and trying to tie up 40m+ for Fred off the back of spending 230m in the summer seems pretty disingenuous to everyone else.
This story is just another agent trying to start a bidding war. I don't believe City have any interest in Hazard nor can we afford to spend £150m and stay within the FFP rules. Just the usual tabloid bollocks. They think us fans are stupid.
Agreed- so can we freeze this thread, rather than risk 10,000 pages of hyperthetical bullshit...
The link is correct.

The same Simon Mullock that's looked at KDB's new contract of £200k+£60k p/w and reported it in that article as £300k+£50k p/w?
