Even if we were interested why would we steer any journalist to the price we were willing to go up to in order to buy him?

Seems idiotic as a negotiating tactic.

Hazard is a great player but he’s a diver. Personally always thought he was a bit over rated. Best scoring season in the league was 16 goals which Sterling is likely to surpass this season. Sane has already beat his best assist total.

If we are going to spend big big money I would prefer we spend that an Aguero replacement when he does leave.

Pep said we couldn't spend big on 1 player so far, but that might change in the future.

Also any other manager makes comments about not being able to afford people or having limited spending and you'd be the first to say they're sending a message to their board/owners. Certainly declaring we can't have 22 top players just before dropping 60m on a CB and trying to tie up 40m+ for Fred off the back of spending 230m in the summer seems pretty disingenuous to everyone else.

No I wouldn't actually, I'd see it as the manager answering people who keep going on about us having unlimited funds to spend & being willing to chuck stupid money on wages.

We haven't & we never have had. That's why we didn't sign Hazard, Pogba, Sanchez, even RVP.

It's all bullshit, about us being sat there with a huge wad of cash. We can't spend that amount of money on one player, unless we don't sign anyone else for a period & we are signing several 'anyone elses' so it won't happen.

And we won't pay Hazard double KDB's wages, so he isn't coming. He has already shown us, that he & his agent are happy to chase the money. That's where he's going.

It's all bollocks re City.

But we'll have to do 1000 pages on it, until he signs for Real Madrid or Utd for 200 mil.
 
This story is just another agent trying to start a bidding war. I don't believe City have any interest in Hazard nor can we afford to spend £150m and stay within the FFP rules. Just the usual tabloid bollocks. They think us fans are stupid.

Agreed- so can we freeze this thread, rather than risk 10,000 pages of hyperthetical bullshit...
