Grateful for what Eddy has done for us, but he had his head turned last summer and probably should have left then.

Maybe this summer is the right time for him to move, with only a year left on his contract.

Trafford will be on nowhere near the wages that Eddie is on. I read somewhere he's the highest paid goalkeeper in the Premier League.

Ignoring the fact that these rumours of him wanting to leave have persisted far, far longer than last week, do you really think any professional at this level is making career defining decisions because of a few internet trolls?

It wont even register with them. You have to have an elite mindset to play at the very top, nobody with an elite mindset would be even slightly triggered by a social media troll to want to move. I doubt theres ever been a situation where a player at this level has left somewhere because of fan abuse. Xhaka at arsenal is probably the worst treatment of any player i can think of in recent memory and he didnt go anywhere. You're giving way too much importance to something thats not even worth mentioning.

I guess the relatively low fee is partly down to his contract situation, but also a goodwill gesture in recognition of his excellent service for the club. Would prefer him to stay for another year, but understand that it’s best to let him leave if he wants to go.

Unsure about Trafford as his direct replacement, if that is the case, but let’s see what happens. Still seems possible that Ortega could leave too, so a more experienced keeper could also yet come in.

Barca and their fans would drive Ter Stegen to Manchester themselves given the opportunity. So I wouldn’t be surprised if we see that as a chance to get an experienced, quality(?) goalkeeper on the cheap to counterbalance a younger Trafford coming in and have some healthy competition there.

It would mean we’d have 2 goalkeepers who have been trained based on how we play football too so have attributes Pep would want in a keeper.

I don’t get why Ederson needs to leave, he needs a couple of years’ contract extension at least, unless there is something we don’t know about. Maybe getting James Trafford would help the home grown allocation, but he still isn’t as good as Eddie. It would be a risk to let Eddie go.

Just the last 12 months, not the 8 years before when we fannied about at the back and won everything and broke every record. Almost like it was the personnel and other factors not the tactics. If Ederson departs we will get another ball playing keeper and play out from the back, put your house on it,think you’d have got the idea after all this time.

This is after the best part of £400m spent.

WIth regard to Trafford his only Premier League experience was a season in which he ended up dropped and his team relegated. It's hard to be optimistic about this signing given the recent track record and when he's replacing our most successful ever keeper - and at that one who has the proven skillset to play for us at the level we want to get back to.

It isn’t that hard in fact I’m very optimistic about how the the rebuild is starting to look with lots of young players, yes they won’t all have instant impact, may not all make it. I looking forward to seeing it develop over the next couple of years.
By the start of next season Rodri could be our oldest player and only over 30 with most of the squad under 27 Exciting times unless you want instant success, I’m not that needy had enough in the last 10 to keep me going for a couple of years if need be. Think we’ll win a few things in the mean time anyway.

The vast majority of those were not really City fans, the cesspit that is X shows you the demographic of abusers are fans from other countries that have jumped on a winning brand, that brand is currently City.

They hang off the words of bullshitting fan accounts, which agitate them in this direction for clicks and money.

The oddest thing is Ederson seems to be only attracting interest from Galatasaray, a big club in Turkey, for sure, but if it's such a mistake to be getting rid of him, why aren't top clubs lining up and especially at the price I've seen quoted, which frankly is shockingly low.
