Ederson (defensive midfielder Atalanta)

Nah, get a straight up understudy project 6. if we getting a 3rd CM.
 
This doesnt feel necessary since we got Nico G.

Rodri, Nico G, Reijnders, and Kova all play in his position in some way.

The only thing that makes sense is if MGW is off, and more players like Kova must be leaving.

Kova is better than him though.
 
Sounds like every agent under the sun is taking advantage of the fact we are knowingly spending money on midfielders this summer to try and get big moves for their players.

Arne Engels, a 21-year-old Belgian midfielder, has emerged as a potential replacement for Ederson at Atalanta. Ederson is expected to leave the club, with Manchester City leading the race by offering €50 million. City's new sporting director, Hugo Viana, formerly of Sporting Lisbon, is tasked with bringing Ederson to the Etihad Stadium.

Seems a bit mad when we have Rodders and both Nicos who can play that role.
 
It does feel like we are entering silly season. I like him, but him, Rudolph, the lad from Genk added to Rods, Rico and Nico ( thats without any of the remaining old guard) seems a tad unlikely.
 
pretty sure he is a rags target so again probably someone in the media trying to create an us vs them story to try and keep them relevant to when he signs for them

I was thinking back to earlier in the season when Internazionale visited and we were consistently ripped up the gut of the pitch, and that was with Rodri in the team. That same Internazionale side were themselves shredded last night by PSG.

Rodri was already struggling to chase back the season before and might never get back to his best, Lewis simply has no pace at all, and Gonzalez is fairly one-paced. We’ve already seen Gonzalez grabbing players when they get goal side of him because he knows he doesn’t have the pace to get back, and that’s potentially a card from the first minute of any game.

If we have to rely on Reijnders, then that reduces the effect he can have where we most need him, so we either use Nunes in there, unlikely, trust O’Reilly more, possible, or find someone else who can play like prime time Fernandinho. I’ve no idea if Ederson is the answer, but our recruitment/development have yet to address a glaring problem at the centre of our team.

We’ll get by in England by shuffling the pack, but we’ll come a cropper in Europe again if we don’t act.

Even if this analysis is true, Ederseon is just not the guy
 
Saudi now Bruno has rejected them. Must have just been to get his name out there as many suspected.
