Our business last summer should really have been stronger given his arrival, but that's an old hat so I'll not re visit.

This signing is an example of two things.

The first being that we fucked up with Bravo and the second shows how clinical we were in fixing it.

Such a refreshing change

Yeah, that's a definite possibility. I suspect as well that Guardiola has known fairly early on where we need to improve so we had plenty of time to get our targets ready.

I think he has known where to strengthen since we went through those couple of rough patches at the end of 2016 (between October-December, Spurs loss, Chelsea loss, Leicester loss, draws to Everton, Boro, Southampton, Celtic). I recall one of his press conferences when he said those first 10 wins were a bit false, almost as if a few players had pulled the wool over his eyes.

I'm hoping (maybe with blue tinted specs on) that Bravo is one of those players that takes a season to settle in a new club. It's happened countless times to other players. He can't possibly be as bad as what we've seen so far... ffs you don't play for Barcelona if you're a clown

Its much more difficult for a keeper to get back into a team once they've fallen out of favour. Bravo will only get the game time if whichever keeper we sign also gets off to a bad start.

As an ex keeper, he looks very quick on his feet, agile and brave as a lion. Made some stunning saves in the video doing the rounds. My only concern is, if he's big enough for the English game or at least might take some time to adjust. He's a fair few inches shorter than Cech, Courtois or De Gea as examples. However, the rest of his game looks solid and he would be a huge upgrade on what we have

Most seem to argue De Gea/Lloris are the two best keepers, Moraes is the same height as Lloris & only 4cm shorter than De Gea; he's also the same height as the stand-out keeper from this season (Heaton) & taller than both this seasons keepers for us (Willy/Bravo).

I get your point that he's not a giant like Cech/Courtois which can certainly have it's benefits, but I'm not convinced that's a necessity to be a top keeper & in some aspects can be a hindrance (e.g. Lloris agility is one of his key areas & something Moraes seems to have; won't see Cech/Courtois utilising those tactics).

Looking at his You Tube compilation, he's so agile, great reflexes, like a cat.
But I'm sure when we sign him,
He'll just be a cat goalkeeper ;-)

Looks like a solid unit. Will have presence in the box unlike Bravo. Good in the air low and high on both sides, closes down well.

Seems we're shifting to more of a Portuguese speaking contingent in the squad now.

I wasn't slagging him off, just saying it's the only concern with him to me. He's at the smaller end of the scale of the top keepers in the Prem history, hart, schmeical, Cech, van der sar, seaman and De gea all taller. So size is useful and the better keepers in Prem History have had that attribute.

He does look to have great agility and reflexes though. And as you say, his size might help him in these areas.... he also closes down the forward very quickly and looks as though he's not scared of coming off his line.

I've not seen enough of him personally to make a qualified comment, I just hope if he doesn't have a faultless start, that the boo boys don't get to him...!!
