Edin Dzeko - All Goals - 2009-2010

He certainly knows where the net is. But i worry that the type of service he got for these goals is completely alien to our players. We certainly wouldn't play to his strengths. Our team needs a mobile, pacy striker upfront. That would suit our style better. Basically, we need our own version of Torres (or Torres himself... he'd do!). If he signs, i'll be pleased, but deep down i feel he's incompatible to the other 10 players we'd have in our team. But maybe he'll prove me wrong.

I think that's why we're being linked with Silva, Milner and co. at the end of the day we are great on the break because we have tonnes of pace and people like Ade are capable of explosive moments, but I reckon Mancini will sacrifice that for a more classic style, you know, midfielders who can pass, wingers who can cross, and strikers who have good movement and are reliable finishers.

im inclined to agree with you......woul be a decent replacement if we get rid of RSC but i think it would take him time to adapt to the prem as well and i fully agree about the type of striker we really do require.....all the top teams have them...drogba, rooney rvp, torres (though he is in a poor team), eto'o.....it is this style of striker we need to but.....

I recommended we sign him approx 18 months ago.

-- Fri May 28, 2010 3:10 am --

The striker it sounds like you want is Tevez in all honesty. During Mancini's reign we have played so many pathetic aimless crosses into the box, only to find we have nobody in there. So many times do we build up play, get it to the strikers, only to realise that there is nobody to hold up the ball. Dzeko is the 100% perfect fit for us.

a no nonsense goal machine, either this guy or higuin up front with tevez would be amazing.

Great compilation, nice to see some consistency too - this vid was from this season but it was his amazing record last year, when Wolfsburg came from nowhere to win the league, that made him famous.

-- Fri May 28, 2010 7:59 am --

AND last season he scored twice in the CL against the scum...they'll fear him already. :)

I'd sign him, but wouldn't rush it through, if we wait till after midnight monday, his release clause is up, we'll get him cheaper.
