Just walked past Jocks Pie Shop & it looks shut. Also went past the Black a Bull so might have dander back there instead of the Seven Sisters. As before, thanks all for your help!

We had a deccent scoff on that winding rd just off the grassmarket at this place.

Victoria Street .. nice couple of pubs and the Liquid Rooms for clubs / gigs
going to see Adam Ant tonight

I'm staying on Holyrood Road for the weekend and was hoping to take in a few scoops in the area. Anyone got a recommendation or two?

I stayed at the Radison blue on the royal mile and went in the pub directly across the rd. The Mitre it was called. They had some deccent ales and some bloke playing his guitar at night. P.S, don't walk up that big hill, there's no pub at the top.

That's us back from the game today... you could fire over to mine and help me in the garden. I'll give you beer and pizza. Enjoy your stay.

I'd love to mate, but the family's in tow :)

It's a great city.

Albanach (fab selection of single malts) and Decon Broudies (some very good real ales) were nice on the Royal Mile. Liked the Black Bull and the Beehive in Grass Market and a bit further down on Cow Gate I did enjoy the Three Sisters. Oz bar was very friendly, looks a bit rough and ready and is full of pierced/tattooed student types - top, top bar staff though, had a belter night in there.

Hope you have a great time JotS.

I can also vouch for the Mitre, had a top time in there last time we went to Edinburgh. Going again next weekend with Mr BB, cannot wait

my pals wife is the manageress its a good solid Nicholson pub as is Greyfriars Bobby
Deacon Brodies is decent at the top of the mile but always heaving .. but if you go directly over the road from there George IV bridge there are some great pubs and eating places plus the Missoni Hotel
Nandos,Vodaka Bar and The Villager are all decent
