Neither, I am trying to say that 'The EDL reckon everyone should unite against Islam', be they black or white.

Groovy.
Not really. They are all a bunch of *****.

And Bammy is right, I shall probably be arrested twice on the way to the bluemoon poss up for looking "a bit right wing"

Not arrested but you and plenty of others could find yourself on the end of a Section 60 when entering town which is what happened to me in 2009 when I went into Manchester for a spot of shopping on the same day that the EDL and UAF were there. I got pulled aside by the police at Piccadilly, who took all my details, asked me if I was affiliated to either group, filmed, before being sent on my way.

Having said that, aren't United at home on March 2nd? It could be very difficult to implement such a system with such a huge influx of fans arriving into town via public transport - when they stopped me neither club was playing due to it being an international weekend.

Rags, EDL, and UAF all in town. Could turn out to be a very lively Bluemoon piss-up for those of you in attendance ;)

I dislike all organised religions if I'm honest.

Are the EDL pro-Christian, Catholic etc?

Against any other religions?

I'm in favour of preserving British Culture (whatever the fuck that is as we are afterall an Island)
Just have my own beliefs and so on when it comes to Religion.
Its not that complicated, to preserve a culture you just carry on doing the things you always do. British culture is defined by how British people live.

Why does the English Defence League have a Greek phrase translated into Latin as its motto?

I'm happy for the EDL and the UAF to march on our streets but I wish they wouldn't march in the same place and at the same time.

By the way, I find the names of both organisations ridiculous.

The EDL defends an England that has never existed and never will.

The UAF seeks to deny free speech to any group which takes to the streets to proclaim views it finds objectionable. Just like fascists do.

I'm glad I live in a country where people are free to take to the streets to have a march to publicise their views, whatever they are.

I don't agree with the EDL, but I hope they enjoy their march.

Shame on anyone who attempts to disrupt it.

Anyone who does disrupt it must have a very low opinion of me and everyone else. They assume that the EDL march could influence me in a way that wouldn't influence them.

How elitist and patronising.
What a pile of crap. They are the street wing of a facist organisation, they have joined up with the english democrats or something like that, who are supposed to be the political wing. Facist organisations always try to take control of the streets, that is there nature. They have also tried to disrupt trade union meetings, with help from the `northern infidels` and bnp.
The north west offices of `Unite` were also attacked by these thugs, who you want to enjoy
there day out. Don`t forget that our clubs owners are muslim as well as Yaya, Kolo, Samir
and Edin. Manchester has always accepted people of different race, nationalities and
religionns. I hope the opposition is much bigger than the racists who
will turn up from from every chicken town around greater Manchester. Smash the fash.
Rubbish
Surely what urmston was trying to portray was everybody's right to free speech, protest etc. which as a civilised nation we hold dear.
I hope he's trying to say was that as an individual, if you are influenced by these halfwits, then that's a personal issue. As normal right thinking folk, you'd expect to just laugh it off for what it is.
In the same wy a Muslim fundamentalist march may provoke outrage for the Daily Mail readers then surely the EDL will merely upset Guardian reading sandal wearers.
Honestly, if you are influenced, upset or even remotely interested in this type of march then I d look closer at your own habits.

It does create a paradox for me. I believe in free speech, freedom of expression and the rule of law. So any credible political movement should be able to protest and further the cause they follow.

My issue with the EDL is they are not a credible organisation. Skashions video showed the violence they are capable of and in a fair and just society where the right to protest is sacrement, surely they are doing more harm than good in upholding that basic tenet of democracy. I would validate my point through causation. If an EDL march is banned a counter march has to be banned and that creates precedents to ban further marches through public safety issues. The powers in charge would im sure love to ban all marches as it saves public money and to give them that option is dangerous, very dangerous indeed.

The paradox is that the more the EDL are allowed to act as violent lunatics on our streets, the less likely people will be allowed to march in the future.
