EDS v Slovan Bratislava, 1pm, City+, (UYL) UEFA Youth League match thread.

I agree. The languid style he has is similar to Palmer and can occasionally be misinterpreted. Sometimes, though, players can reach this level and think they’ve cracked it whereas the reality is that the next step is the biggest. Wright seems to have taken this on board.
I think there's also an element of thought that he's been around the 1st team fringes for a while now so the expectation level has risen. We want him to be the next breakthrough to become a regular 1st team squad member so when he doesn't go out and grab games like this by the scruff of the neck we're all a little disappointed.

In His defence playing advanced midfield against 10 man low block is very difficult. Agree he always looks like he’s got more than he’s putting in, but today a tough one to judge. Defenders, 6, and wide players naturally more space and more of the ball. 8, 9, 10 are working in very congested spaces, Oreilly strengths not suited to todays game

He likes to try to run with it and power through so might take time to always get right. Great weapon to have though if hecan master it.
