They were ~15 points behind SU in the league, they were very lucky against Coventry, they'v been shit today, no player looks to be able to be on the bench of any PL side, Ipswich Town looks like PSG for them. But hey, if you are Mackem, good luck next season.

This video cemented a place in my heart for the Mackems - they got what it was to be us and I have always had a soft spot for them. Living up here I can see they are in the shadow of Newcastle and as I am just South of Middlesbrough I can see how Sunderland is a better city - even the telly is Tyne Tees TV - they are an oversight in their own back yard.
 
Wow - 24 points behind Burnley and only 21 wins the whole season. Aren’t the playoffs great. Totally unfair at times but a great spectacle. Well done the Mackems but they are likely to struggle big time next year. Let’s hope they don’t re-sign the evergreen Jordan Henderson or that 12 points might be out of reach!

Don't think the Sunderland fans give a shit about luck or whether their team deserved the result today.
Celebrate today,worry about next season in August.
