EFL Playoffs time

I’m actually staggered by this,I thought a fine would have been the decision,it’s also disgraceful that Hull have been focused on playing Southampton and now it’s Boro, what about the fans who have booked hotels tickets and transport, and short notice now for Middlesbrough fans to get sorted the whole thing is a shambles..

Seems like a super harsh punishment. Even the points deduction alone feels strict.

If they are going to expel Southampton, they should just award Hull the play off trophy and promotion. If Hull end up losing, surely they'll have a very valid complaint about their preperation being impacted by this sudden change in opponents. Boro will have been preparing for this on the off chance, hull would have been expecting to face Southampton.

Good argument, however to play devils advocate, could Boro not claim they’ve missed out as they were cheated against?

Ridiculous decision. Punishment not even close to be proportional to the offence.
But it's designed to ensure clubs abide to:

EFL Regulation 3.4, which requires clubs to act towards each other with the utmost good faith; and

EFL Regulation 127, which prohibits any club from observing, or attempting to observe, another club's training session within 72 hours of a scheduled match between the two clubs.

A slap on the wrist does nothing
A fine, Southampton would make more than enough to cover It if promoted.
Points deduction - PL aren't obliged to enforce it (farcical in it's own right)
So the only solution is what's transpired.
Edit: if I were the bloke in the picture I'd take an extended holiday from the UK, knowing how feral some football "supporters" are

Hull had been spying on Southampton now they’ve only got a few days to switch
