EFL Playoffs time

Obviously the guilty party think it impacts results, which is why they have been spying on teams

You cannot prove whether it did or didn't impact the result on the day but you can prove the guilty party spied because they hoped it would....

What even is the issue with someone spying the training of a team? Anyone could have stood outside Boro’s training ground and watched them. Don’t see what the fuss is about considering Boro could not be bothered with preventing this to start with. Surely shows how little of a difference it makes.

Is that cartel Trojan horse Parry still at the EFL, seems the type of attention grabbing that cwunt would be involved in.

Ultimately it's against the EFLs rules.

Because it's against the rules to observe teams preparations 72 hours before a game unless invited.

Also he's not just anyone, he's a Southampton staff member. It's also private land where he was stood, so in fact nobody should be stood observing from that spot..let alone someome working for Southampton. Just because somewhere is physically accessible, it doesn't mean you are allowed to be there. It's like me breaking into your house and saying it's your fault because you had stronger windows. he was on private land!

He broke clear rules that compromised the game. How do you know boro didn't have to change the tactics last minute after preparing for a week?

If it makes no difference, why were Southampton sending someone the length of the country to risk breaking rules?

It is not. There is no rule to say you fill be expelled if you spy.
EFL Regulation 127, which prohibits any club from observing, or attempting to observe, another club's training session within 72 hours of a scheduled match between the two clubs.

Doesn't specify what the punishment should be but that's what the panel decided and what Southampton are appealing. But it's definitely against the rules

It is but as I wanted to write the severity jump between Leeds and this scenario is enormous. With precedent set, and no indication of what the punishment would be. I have read that CAS can’t be consulted in this.

Wasnt just that they have been caught a few times doing that we know of............they had someone turn up in an Eastleigh kit to spy on Ipswich which would have had a huge outcome had they beat Ipswich ...........

The rule was brought in after Leeds did it and by all accounts Bielsa didnt know you couldnt do it ...........Southampton went ahead and did it knowing excatly want they where doing i mean why dress up in an Eastleigh kit if your not up to anything ?????

I kind of don't see what's wrong with spying - it's up to teams to stop it, do 'secret' stuff out of the way etc.

But it's in the rules, so they're fucked.

Agree with you about it being disproportionate, but how could this have an appropriate penalty?

Think the best way would be to ban them from using video analysis and watching MOTD for the whole of next season. :) Let them know nothing about teams - apart from by turning up at training sessions and trying to spy on them!

I have been to a few training grounds and most of them have tall hedges or fences to make it virtually impossible to “spy”. It should be down to a club to not give the opportunity to have unwanted observers.

Btw this couldnt hsve happened at a better time least its taken the spotlight of the negative shite champs
Precisely this. Sure, they won the league… but they didn’t get to do it in front of their fans, and now instead of being the headlines, they’re relegated to third behind Southampton and Pep stories.

Unfortunate. :)

Btw which was pointed out to me on another forum.

Had say Salford done the same on here to Grimsby would anyone be up in arms at the same punishment ?????

Is it a big uproar simply down to yet again money ????
