EFL Thread | 2024/25

So the day has finally arrived, and I'm absolutely sh*tting it.

It's the first fixture we all look for but when it arrives I'm not sure anybody wants it.

On paper they have a far better team than us and the worry is under Rohl we seem to be good or very bad, I just hope today is not the latter.

Also our record at Bramall Lane is atrocious, I think we've only won once (2009) since the late 60's, although as a fixture it can go years without happening. Today is the first meeting since March 2019.

For older fans today is also a flashback to a different time watching football as Wednesdayites will be kept back 20 mins after the final whistle.

Unless I'm at the game (not a chance of a ticket for me today) I don't tend to watch us on TV as when I do we usually lose.

So at 12:25pm today this will be me

Know the feeling mate! Have a queasy feeling in our Derby unless we are at least 2 up with a minute to go.

Looking forward to the first Sheffield Derby in six years. Mum is from South Yorkshire, I lived in Sheffield for many years, went to Uni there, worked there for many years, and am back working there now! I love that city as well as Manchester. Two great clubs with terrific, passionate support that I've watched many, many times and I want them to win except when they play City. I'd much rather they both be in the Premier League than any other of our rivals. I've got mates on both sides of the city and our Em has played for both Blades and Owls grassroots teams. I've been to a few Steel City Derbies in the past and I wish I was at this match but I'm more than happy to watch it at home and not have that horrible Derby Day tension. Make no mistake, this is a fierce passionate rivalry with a rich history over more than a century. Bring it on.
